“Nice Hotel, Lodge Feel, Plenty of Food Options”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

Craftsman Inn is a nice hotel. Nothing fancy but has a lodge feel quality to it. Cozy lobby and rooms. Rooms on the smaller side. Comfortable bed. Bathrooms are very small and very low water pressure. Feels like an individually owned hotel rather than a chain type feeling. Hallway carpets and elevator need a cleaning and leave a not so clean impression at first, however the rooms are very clean. Creaky wood floors beneath the carpet add to the charm. Plenty of stores and food options across the street and in walking distance. Great little Restaurant attached to property. Wireless internet is very weak from several of the rooms. All in all a nice stay.

You are correct that The Craftsman Inn is an independent hotel, and does have a country inn or lodge ambiance and feel. We are in the heart of Fayetteville's shopping opportunities, and have a number of great local and regional shopping destinations to visit right next door. Our Limestone Grille, as you mentioned, is a super spot to dine, but there are many other great restaurants nearby. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We look forward to seeing you back.

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

Great room. Nice seating area with couch and fridge. Nice jacuzzi but shower definately lacking in water pressure. Bed is huge and sooo comfy!. Hotel is definately unique. If you are looking for a nice room at a good price in a hotel that is not cookie cutter this is the place. Restaurant has great food and other great shops and restaurants nearby. Would definately stay here again.

Thank you Laura M! Its great to hear from our neighbors as well as our guests from around the country. And yes, we do have a super comfy bed! And our restaurant, The Limestone Grille has been acclaimed from the beginning for its innovative approach to Contemporary American Cuisine and its Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine program. Thank you for mentioning it!

We appreciate your comments and we hear you on the water pressure concern, which is issue that we are working to remedy with some new technology that will keep water conservancy in mind while stepping up that pressure! And while we're definitely not downtown in the middle of things, we are in a great area on the East side of Syracuse, with a ton to do nearby, and only 15 minutes from Armory Square!

“Would NOT stay again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Stayed here on a recent visit to see family after hearing from my parents what a nice place it was...come to find out that the last time they stayed there was TEN yrs ago and things definitely changed...for the worst. Was so excited to stay and boy was it a huge letdown. Room was small and felt/looked dirty. Lifted the cover at the end of the bed to find huge stains all over the end of the white comforter. Assuming it was coffee stains and trying not to think about other possibilities. Forget about using the hairdryer. The end of the plug was all shattered that I don't know how a fire wasn't started. The room just felt musty and old. I was awake all night worried something was going to come out and crawl on me. Feel bad that our 2 yr old son slept on it (he was comfortable but he didn't know any better!). For the amount that the room cost I would have expected better. The front looks cute but than you drive around the side and it's all worn looking. I would definitely look around and stay elsewhere. Huge letdown.

“Not quite up to par”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

We spent one night in a large enough suite at the only motel/hotel in Fayetteville. This is a very nice area with great shops and restaurants, but they need a better hotel/motel. My initial impression when I arrived late at night was that things didn't seem clean. Even the side entrance and hall seemed to lack a feeling of freshness. The room carpet seemed dirty. The wood furniture was nicked and the tops of tables were marred and seemed dirty. The bed mattress pad wouldn't stay on. I was tired, and so I ignored my misgivings and went to sleep. The bathroom floor seemed dirty. My bath towel was shredded on the side. This place definitely needs to be updated, and the cleaning staff needs to work harder.
