“NOT THE BEST VALUE BY A LONG SHOT!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2011

Don't stay here...dog fee was $10/dog/night which was more than half the price of the outdated, horrible room! Small room (King) with paper thin walls. Heard water run (loudly) every time next door neighbors turned water on. Cold breeze seeped thru the gap between the door facing and door all night so heater kept turning off and on. Every time heater turned on, the pipes "popped" for at least 10 minutes! We got very little sleep. Certainly NOT America's Best Value!

We are saddened that our guests were not happy with their stay. We work hard to keep our facility clean and well maintained. However it’s not always possible to make every guest happy. We have a pet surcharge of $10.00 per dog to help cover the additional room cleaning and grounds maintenance costs we incur to insure the next guests finds it clean and serviceable. In an effort to continue to improve the overall quality of our guests stay and our rooms we submitted our facility to a series of comprehensive reviews
By outside agencies. An energy audit and site survey was conducted in December 2010 along with a complete review of our mechanical systems. System deficiencies detected were repaired at that time. We have checked the room in question and found the cycling of the heating system was the result of the coldest air of the season during our guests visit and the air leak around the door was due to a piece of damaged weather stripping. As the owner operator of this facility I am available 24/7 (as is our maintenance and housekeeping supervisors) to address any issues that our guests may have. We gladly would have provided our guest with another room if we had known of the issues. Again we strive to provide clean comfortable room at a fair price and we are sorry you were not satisfied. We appreciate your feedback as it shows us where we may have fallen short. We hope this guest will give us another chance to make it up to them.

“They at least answered the door...”

We were traveling to OH and behind schedule because of traffic and various things. It was 12:45 AM and we had 7 hours still to go but needed some rest. Got off the throughway hoping to get 2 rooms at the Comfort Inn but unfortunately they only had 1 room, the Budget Inn was locked up for the night and then there was this. They opened there door and had 2 rooms so for that we were thankful and knowing we were only going to sleep for about 4 hours was OK. The rooms were rundown and a bit scary. We did as little as possible, got up at 5 AM and we were on the road by 6:30. They did have a Dunkin Donuts next door and a gas station so that worked for us. Will not get off the highway at exit 44 any more as it is not worth the chance.

“Home away from home!”

It was my first vacation in several years so friends and I decided to head up to New York. We stayed in several small hotels/motels along the way but this was the best by far. I read the reviews when booking online but after calling the property directly found that there are now new owners to the property and in the last year it has undergone and continues to do so, renovations to both the guest rooms and property. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello. The rooms are inviting and the beds, very comfortable. We all had a great night's sleep and were ready to go in the morning. The price is right and I would definitely recommend it to my fellow travellers.

“Not a good place to stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2008

Just a FYI the Inn in Farmingdale NY is a dump. We stayed one night; the room was run down; the soap despenser was broken and had mildew all over it; there was stains on bedspread; they used simply one flat sheet and not a fitted sheet to bed; ants in the room; stains in bathroom; lock on door was broken. Not a good place; not clean. I will not stay again.

  • Liked — toilet flushed
  • Disliked — ants in room; dirty room; dirty carpet; dirty bedspread;you get the idea

“Neglected Room”

We have stayed here before, and have been satisfied with the rooms. This visit, however, we had a smoking room. It was not well cleaned and many of the amenities (towel bars, chairs, lamps and the like), were missing pieces, gone, or damaged. We were disappointed.
