“You get what you pay for”

Hotel is nice from the outside. Inside needs some work, front desk was friendly, easy check in, old room keys to get in the room. Hallways and carperts need to be updated, kinda dingy and old looking. Maybe some nicer lighting to make it less dark looking. Room was clean, so was the kitchen. Bathroom needed updating. Beds werent to comfy. Only 1 pillow per person, a small little tv with not alot of channels. We had called for towels and was told we needed to go down and get them. We asked for extra pillows and we were able to get them but of course had to get them ourseleves. When we went to get towels they told us they had ran out and wouldnt have any till morning. This hotel needs some updating to it, walls are to thin you can hear people, you can also hear people in the hallway. You pay 4.99 just to use the internet and if u stay over 12 they charge u an extra 12 dollars or more on check out. I would not stay here again. Maybe if they did some upgrades to the hotel then id think different but i dont think it was worth it. Price is good but the quality was poor. I think since they said it was a busy a weekend due to it being labor day weekend they should of been more up with stuff and being able to help there guest.

“Very loud hotel and not the cleanest”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2011

Stayed at the Extended Stay America, Elmsford ny numerous times and this past stay was about the same as all the past 12+ stays. The rooms are all the same and from what I have found, not very clean. I guess it depends on the person that cleans the room but it seems that there isn't alot of time spent in the cleaning from the last person that was satying ther and who knows for how long. The hallways always reak of Asin food in the eves. I always go out out eat here and there isn't alot close to choose from. Best best are the TGI Friday's in Tarrytown or the Applebees about 5 miles east on Tarrytown Rd in a strip mall with a K-mart. There are some others but not the best neighborhood so I'm not too adventurous.
The staff doesn't seem to be very concerened about the customer's stay and just wants to get the customer away from the desk.
The sleep at night was about the worst. Between the doors slamming, toilets flushing, showers going and noisy people all over the place, I never get sleep there.
Only reason I have stayed here 12+ times is that is the place my company put me up for the night. There is much worse in the area for sure! The Saw Mill River Motel will make you think this place is the best ever.
For the price, there are much better choices of places to stay in the area. Try the Tarrytown Double Tree.
But if you have a budget, not a terrible place to stay but look around the area, deals can be found.

“Mediocre Hotel + Double Charged Credit Card”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2010

My sister and I stayed here to be close to family member. Although having some kitchen is helpful, it is no where near the value you would get at Homewood Suite or Staybridge (other equivalent hotels with kitchens in the room). They have no breakfast. They had no shampoo. They do not provide any sort of cleaning service unless you stay over 1 week (other hotels at least make your bed and change towels). The inside of the building smelled a bit dingy. They make you pay $4.99 for internet access. It's overpriced for what you get.

What was worse was that when I returned and reviewed my credit card charges, I realized the hotel double charged me. I immediately contacted my credit card company. I also called this hotel. What did they say? They asked me for my phone number and said they would call me back. After 15 minutes of waiting and fuming, I finally called back to ask whether they were going to reverse the charge. The woman sounded rather exasperated and said she already reversed the charge. I asked for confirmation of the reversal. After more exasperated sigh, she asked for my email. I got an invoice that showed 2 different charges and 1 reversal.

After that, I called Expedia to lodge a complaint because this is ridiculous.

If (1) you don't mind having to check your credit card charges to make sure you aren't getting double billed, and (2) you don't mind a bit of dingy smell or ambiance that makes it obvious it's not the cleanest in maintenance, I suppose you can stay here. Personally, I would have picked another hotel that's cleaner, actually gave some breakfast, had free internet access, and did not feel like they were screwing me over financially. But that's just me.

“Terrible Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2010

We booked the room through expedia and the room was already paid for but the staff @ Extended Stay charged the credit card again on the credit card they require for incidentals. They charge for internet access, the hallways & elevators are always dirty & it looks like the staff go out of their way to double charge the guests. Not happy & the operating under Chapter 11 really shows in the shoddy service.
