When looking for a place to stay in the Elmira area I stumbled on this B&B. It was well priced and rated well so we went ahead and booked it. Upon arrival, the host took us around the home and showed us all the rooms that were unoccupied as well as a quick historical tour of the main rooms including a working billiard room. The room was spacious and had a jetted tub with a very large bathroom and a gas fireplace. It was however, very flowery with a strong older feminine influence along with a strong flowery smell (my male partner did not seem to notice the air fresheners so maybe I'm a bit sensitive). The hosts then proceeded to recommend places to eat and gave us free wine tasting coupons for the area. The restaurant had exceptional food even though it was a very long wait. Breakfast at the Painted Lady was phenomenal. It was fresh and original and very filling. The hosts are both very personable and the service was impressive.
