We recently stayed over the Black Friday weekend. No hot water on first morning. Hotel did immediately tried to rectify the situation but couldn't. The second morning, there was hot water, probably due to fewer staying in the hotel. Nice to see flat screens and newer bedding in the rooms but that was it for renovations. It appeared to be same old carpet in rooms and definitely same old wallpaper border that was there 10 years ago. Bathroom needed to be updated. Why the partial update? Halls had nice new carpets. Breakfast area was dirty appearing. Breakfast staff were washing equipment in the sink where guests were trying to get their breakfast! This should have been done in another area. Breakfast area looked untidy and disorganized. Overpriced for the condition of this hotel. It should have a pool and major renovations to charge what they do! Heating and air conditioning unit was very noisy. First night was comped due to their 100% guarantee with no problem. That was nice.

We paid regular rates for an establishment undergoing a complete remodel. Had we known in advance there would be no carpeting and fans going in the halls plus a reception-breakfast area that was in disarray, we would have skipped our stay. Booking information should have included this information. The location is convenient if one is traveling the NY Throughway but there are also other choices at this location such as the Doubletree.

We have stayed in this hotel many times but this time was the worse. They had a water problem the day before we arrived. Our rooms were located on the main floor. They had fans blowing. Under their wall paper they had mold growing. This did not happen overnight. This hotel should not have be able to accept guest as mold was on the walls. I took a picture of the mold but the next day they tacked it back so no one could see it.

We reserved for one Saturday night using our AARP discount. This Hampton Inn has no pool and needs some redecorating. I felt the price was steep for the services offered. Coffee and cookies upon check-in were a nice touch. The front desk staff was helpful. The breakfast area is small, so try to get downstairs early and beat the rush!
