“Great room accomadations, but minimal service”

East Hampton Point is a great place to stay if you are looking for a high standard inn that takes pride in its cleanliness, gorgeous linens/towels, beautiful but small rooms. The inn offers great L'occitane products and Frette linens and in compassion to other inns in East Hampton this exceeds expectations. However, as a New Yorker who loves Ritz-Carlton's, and other high-end hotels I did expect some service at this inn as well. The front desk closes around 6pm, and there is virtually no staff on sight after that hour. The restaurant is beautiful as it sits on the marina, but the staff are extremely sub par, and the service is inadequate in compassion to the amenities this hotel offers. It appears as if the Inn has undergone some remodeling recently, with its traditional beautiful furniture; however, the pool is not what you expect from an inn of this module. The Hampton's does not offer great places to stay and I would have to say this is by far one of the best non-bed and breakfast places however, it seems as if all the staff are on different pages. If you are looking for a clean, very comfortable beautiful bed, and are not looking for a typical hotel/inn experience and are willing to spend the money than you will find it at East Hampton Point.

“ional Marina, True Safe Harbor, Professional Service & Staff, Gorgeous Resort and Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2010

The East Hampton Point Marina and Resort are, quite simply, the most wonderful spot we've ever visited by boat or land. This is not hyperbole, but a reflection of the remarkable quality of the facilities, the management, the staff and the restaurant, whose qualities shone under the most serious of adverse circumstances -- a sudden, rogue tornado/waterspout in the area that affected us (and also the EHP Marina) as we were just approaching 3 Mile Harbor to enjoy a stay at the dock.

Despite the sudden loss of power, downed trees, damage to property, EHP staff responded to the situation in the finest maritime tradition.

We were assisted by a young staff person, Daniel Mott, and by Kayla Talmadge, the Manager of EHP Marina, who acted heroically under the circumstances. The staff expertly juggled concern for our safety with simultaneously beginning immediate repairs and safety checks at the marina property.

Despite the power outage and raging storm, and all the pressures of the evening for the staff we were able to have a delicious dinner in the fine restaurant, and were served with dignity and neighborly concern, despite our waterlogged appearance. We were further cared for with an offer of accomodations (even though we had no advance reservation) in an exceptionally comfortable, sparkling clean and beautifully decorated private cottage. While we rested, thankful for the true safe harbor, the management of EHP was busy all night long, with logging crews, building crews and electrical work, restoring EHP to its naturally peaceful --- and very private--- beauty almost instantly.

The next day our sailboat was thoroughly checked over by the super-competent marina technical staff. The owner of the resort kindly checked on us the next day, while at the same time commanding an almost magical restoration of the resort to perfect condition with teams of workers engaged 24/7 .

While we waited for some repairs to the boat, we enjoyed the lovely pool, restaurant and other resort facilities.

Considering we were completely unknown to EHP Marina beforehand, (although we had planned our visit based on excellent recommendations from other sailing friends), this experience speaks volumes about the quality of this facility.

We will be back again, and will absolutely recommend EHP Marina to any serious sailor or visitor to the lovely community of Springs, an easy taxi ride from East Hampton.

EHP Marina and Resort is a premiere world class sailing destination, with premier accomodations and exceptionally beautiful waterfront restaurant.

“Impeccable friendly service, first rate marina, fabulous restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

My wife and I intended to dock overnight at East Hampton Point's marina this July, but we got caught in a water spout just outside Three Mile Harbor. The staff came to our rescue. Despite damage to the property, power outages and downed trees, we were rescued by boat by the front desk manager while we were stuck on the jetty at the harbor entrance, and we stayed for 2 nights in a charming cottage-- without a hotel reservation. If that doesn't describe courtesy and service, what does? Everything about the place was first rate, and we made lemonade out of lemons because of the team at East Hampton Point.

The food at the restaurant is first rate. Great seafood. Lots from which to choose. Nice lunch menu too. And, views out of this world.

Our cottage was elegant, clean and contemporary, yet a Hampton cottage with shingles and character. Nice bathrooms, plasma tvs, kitchenettes. First rate.

While East Hampton Point is a great boating destination, it's a bit off the beaten track for people who want to head into town or to the ocean beach. But, it's not far at all and it's rather nice to head back to an oasis.

Thank you again East Hampton Point. See you in 2011-- in a dock slip!

“A Relaxing Vacation in the Hamptons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2010

My family and I spent a weekend at East Hampton Point. It was great. the staff was kind and willing to go above and beyond. We have very active twin boys. Getting away to the beach for the day was exactly what we needed. Next time we'll bring a sitter but it was very relaxing.

“Nice place, expensive, minimal service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2010

The room at the Palmer House was new and exceptionally clean. However, service at East Hampton Point is minimal, to the point of being non-existent. The worst part is check in. If you arrive past 5, there's not a soul there. The grounds are pitch dark and a maze of cabins and various buildings. The night we arrived (at around 6:30) it was freezing cold and we spent 15 minutes searching for the reception area (very poorly marked). It was only when we chanced upon another guest that we were able to figure out where to go. There is no restaurant off season, and not even a small breakfast. The room does have complimentary coffee (and a maker), but the creamer in the refrigerator obviously had been there so long it was spoiled and not useable. This, even though they charge an obligatory 5% housekeeping on each bill.

Also, if you use GPS to find this place be very careful. It is rather remote and in a very dark area. We learned the hard way that there are TWO 295 Three Mile Harbor Roads about two miles apart from one another (and one is a private home). Out of desperation, having searched for over a half hour (and repeatedly been directed by GPS to the private home at 295 Three Mile Harbor Road), we finally called the hotel number. Since it was past 5, no one was there to pick up, but a hotel employee subsequently called us back. The employee then explained that this happens all the time (GPS directs people to the private home at 295 Three Mile Harbor Road, and that you must input Three Mile Harbor Road/Hog Creek Road). If that's the case, why not tell guests in advance when they make the reservations??

In short, East Hampton Point is a nice place, but could be so much nicer if the staff tried even a LITTLE to make guests feel welcome.
