We arrived at the 1922 Starkey House late on Saturday evening for an overnight stay. Cathy, the owner/host, cheerfully met us upon arrival with some delicious treats made from scratch including great gluten free scones. After an overview of our accommodations, Cathy gave us some tips for dinner - we chose the Union Block restaurant in Hammondsport (tasty bianca pizza with shrimp and a lively downstairs bar). Back at the Starkey House, we stayed in the Robins Nest which has an extra adjoining room and access to the outside veranda overlooking the lake and sunrise -. which we set our alarm to see. The house's woodwork was wonderfully preserved, very clean, the bathroom newly renovated and the bed/pillows comfy. There was even an electric fireplace for ambiance and comfort. The accommodations were topped off by a most delicious breakfast and gracious host who ensured that we were satisfied and provided for. Thanks for an enjoyable experience!

Room tip: 2nd floor for views of the lake,

Once again, I am so grateful for your elaborate review and taking the time to write it. You have mentioned the details about your stay that I work so hard to provide. Although your stay was for just one night I am happy that your experience here at the 1922 Starkey House was one that may have you come to stay again in the future. Thanks from the heart! Cathy

My husband and I stayed at 1922 Starkey House for Seneca Lake's "Deck the Halls" weekend. We had a lovely time during our visit, enjoyed the home's charm, Cathy's great food and purchasing way too much wine. We would definitely stay again. :)

I am thankful for the time taken to write this lovely review! The winter was a long one but you trudged through to have a memorable weekend, which I am glad that I was a part of. Please return during the summer or fall when everything is warm, beautiful, and buzzing! The lakes are absolutely gorgeous this time of year! Thanks again! Cathy

Yes, the nights are quiet here since we are in the country parts overlooking Seneca Lake. The location is central to all activiies in the region and just minutes away from the hustle bustle of our quaint villages. And, guests like you find it relaxing and peaceful to end their day here for a good sleep! It is like that during all seasons, even in the lively summer and fall seasons. Thank you for your great words and I welcome you back soon! Cathy

We stayed at 1922 Starkey House the second weekend of October in the Veranda Room. The deck with views of the lake was a great spot for a morning coffee. The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. The breakfasts were delicious, and the owner/hostess Cathy was extremely kind and helpful. If you are looking for a relaxing way to spend a weekend exploring the Finger Lakes, we would definitely recommend 1922 Starkey House.

My husband and I are always a little worried when we book a place online without having seen it or knowing anyone who has been there. Well, we couldn't have been happier with our stay with Cathy in her beautiful, comfortable B & B! We stayed in the Catalpa Room, which was very clean and comfortable with a sparkling clean brand new bathroom. And as an added bonus, we had a beautiful view of the lake from our room. Cathy was a knowledgable, friendly hostess who genuinely cares about the comfort of her guests. She recommended Frisky wine tours, which we booked, and had an excellent day wine tasting. Cathy's breakfasts with homemade breads were delicious and a great way to start the day! If we find ourselves back in the Finger Lake region, we will be staying at the 1922 Starkey House B & B again, for sure!
