We were camping at the RV park which is great, located right beside the park. But, both mornings at 7:00 am the big garbage trucks came rumbling through emptying out the dumpsters. Bang, crash, vroooom. Bang, crash, vroom. Then kids started crying and everyone in the park was awake. Both mornings, same time. Who's the goomba who allows that wake up call?

Stayed at the campground June 24-25, 2010 and I must say I find it hard to complain about one night stay, two days at one park, family of 4 for the price. Park was clean, lines where not long, staff was college kids, but where mostly friendly. We did find they closed a couple rides to operate another ride due to short of employes, but we did everything a couple times. Food was what you would expect from a theme park, expensive. Can not comment on parking fees as we did not have to pay since we stayed at campground. Campground was clean, freshly mowed, Bathroom's could use a little updating, but where keep clean. Would recommend going there to anyone.

Second summer to the park , again had great time with kids , bothh years we traveled mid week and stayed at hotel . Hotel is basic room with bar fridge . Beds were comfotable and clean . Swam in pool the 3 days of our trip ,Our family drives past wonderland to make the trip to Darien Lake and do so every summer. There are short or no lineups at most midway rides ,the kids go until they want to move on to the next ride ,this year there were line ups at the water park but the temp.was 30+ while we were there. Find prices reasonable as are the portions you get for food . Buy the refillabe cup and from then on your drinks are $1 .The park is older but has all the rides my kids want and they can ride again and again without waiting 30/60 min to get on....We will be back again next summer for sure... Few of the rides were closed when we were there but alot of the kids going to college had left their summer jobs .

This was the second time our family went camping at darian lake. This time was not nearly as good as the first simply because of the condition of the amusement park this time around. Popular rides were either closed or running with only half capasity. The staff was very rude to us on several occasions, and they seemed very confused and unorganized. Posted times when rides were to open were not followed. However the park is very clean, and is one of the few parks that offer both camping and amusements at an excellent value.. Rent the least expensive RV. you will spend most of the time at the amusement park. The more expensive RV's you pay extra for a BBQ and a TV.
