We visited Darien Lake from July 15 to July 18. We stayed at the hotel on the resort.

The rooms: The rooms are clean. The first one we were given had a musky moldy smell. We simply asked for a room change and the problem was solved.

Hotel rooms: Are dated but they are clean. The beds are comfortable and so are the pillow. I think the rooms get musky and moldy because of ongoing wet feet on the carpeted room. If the carpets were removed I think the problem would be solved. Please remove your carpets.

Reception: One word "awesome". They are fantastic and well trained. They are polite and professional. They seemed eager to make our stay and as great as possible.

Pool on the resort: Clean and heated.

Lifeguards at the pool resort: They are well trained and friendly. They seemed to really care about the safety of all. They were not shy about ensuring that the children were safe. Meaning rules are enforced. It think this is a good thing.

Rides: There were no long line ups at the rides. The operators were friendly. No issues here.

Concession areas: Wish they were as friendly as the reception staff. I wish they would smile more and were nicer.

Water slides: There is room for improvement here. I saw many children get stuck in these rides. I hope they fix this.

Maria’s Spaghetti House: We ate here. I would not recommend it. The food was not very good and the place seemed to be in need of a really good cleaning. Food was more like bad cafeteria food.

Beaver Brothers Lakeside Café: We had the breakfast buffet. The fruit was not fresh. The scrambled eggs were horrible. All other breakfast items were delish. But I would eat here again. The wait staff were fantastic. The restaurant was very clean. Very nice restaurant.

Park Bathroom: The park bathroom did get gross. I think that they need to be cleaned more often. Please clean the bathrooms more often.



I have stayed at this hotel 4 times now. I would stay here again. Yes absolutely.

This was our first visit to Darien Lake Theme Park and we travelled with our three children ages 11 to 15. The main purpose of this trip was to visit the Theme Park for the roller coaster rides.

Check-in at the Lodge was efficient and friendly. We found the front desk staff very responsive and the couple of minor issues we raised during our stay were quickly and cheerfully resolved to our satisfaction. In fact we found the vast majority of the staff to be friendly during our stay.

I was concerned about how we were going to fit our family of 5 into a single room (Fort den type) but in the end we were quite comfortable. This room type has two single bunk beds (stacked), a Queen bed and a Queen pullout. The accommodation was somewhat worn but in general things were clean. The room includes two flat screen televisions, a small fridge, a coffee maker and a microwave. The included free Wifi provided reasonable speed and a solid connection. A word of caution - the sound proofing between rooms is not perfect and if you end up with a late night noisy family next door it can disturb your sleep.

The Amusement Park and Water Parks were a great hit with our children. These are both a good 10 minutes walk from the Lodge and repeated trips during the day might prove tiring for younger children.

Our kids rode on all the rides right up until the 10:00 closing. They loved doing the Ride of Steel in the dark! We found the two biggest premium rides a good deal if you took both on the same day. Three of the family took the Skycoaster for the standard $75 but two of them were then able to take the Slingshot for only $25.

We had taken the 3 day "Stay" special which included meal vouchers and this turned out to be our biggest disappointment. The food was not very good quality and lacked any healthy choices. Although on a value for money basis it was a good deal when compared to the regular pricing for the same food. Just bear in mind that you will be limited to hot dogs, burgers, pizza and chicken strips for your choices if you go with this option.

We will most likely return as we have family friends who make an annual visit to Darien Lake Theme Park but next time we will do some advanced planning and bring some of our own food.

All in all the family enjoyed this trip but if you plan to visit Darien Lake you should bear in mind this is not Disney!

We just came back from Darian Lake and stayed at the resort for a couple of days...Rooms are very clean staff very friendly...Well worth the value as resort is about a 5 min walk to amusement park...Very clean and our kids loved along with us....Add this place for your summer holiday as it is well worth the money..Nightly laser and fireworks show tops off a perfect day..Oh and not very long lineups..U can go on as many rides here in 2 hrs as you can all day at wonderland..

This lodge is located within the propery of Darien Lake Amusement Park. The Lodge itself is a bit older but looks fairly recently updated. The rooms are pretty standard accomodations but the public areas of the lodge are warm and inviting. The entrance has a nice fireplace with a big screened television surrounded by large rocking chairs and comfy couches for the guests to relax in at all hours. There is also a small snack bar area in the lobby, with pizzas and other goodies. There is a nice heated outdoor pool and a small baby pool. The property surrounding the lodge is quite lovely and leads around the lake right to the entrance of the amusement park. The price of the room includes unlimited entry into the amusement park for the duration of your stay. We stayed at the lodge toward the end of the season(October-lodge closes for the winter) and they offered many additional activities for the family, like face painting, crafts and pumpkin carving(all free of charge). Friendly staff and wonderful amusement park!
