“If attending a concert @ Darien Lake, you can't beat the location of The Lodge on the Lake Hotel”
My sister and I went to see The Dave Matthews Band at Darien Lake PAC, and I thought instead of fighting traffic after the show and also risking a DWI, it would be wise for us to stay at a hotel. I had originally reserved The Econo Lodge in Corfu. I then went to the Darien Lake site to look at the map, when I decided to call and check if the hotel would be open for the night of the show. Luckily, it was! I was so happy, because we do like to have a few when going to a concert, and instead of one of us having to sacrifice by not drinking, we could both get 'crocked' if needed and not worry about a thing. And not only was it opened, but the price in comparison to the Econo Lodge for one night differed only by literally 6 cents, so it was a no-brainer! As far as the service goes, I can't really complain at all. When driving in to the property, you'll find gates with attendants that will ask you for your reservation number, so have that ready for a smooth and quick entrance. The attendant will then give you a parking permit to hang on your mirror in the lot. When we entered the hotel, the girls at the desk were super friendly and I loved the decor of the place. Everything was woodsy and had a wide open feeling. One thing I loved was the fact that there was plenty of luggage carts available to transport your items to and from the room. Also sliding glass front and back entrance doors to the hotel made it very easy to move in and out with items. Once we arrived in the room, I was satisfied. One thing that I did notice, which of course was not a big deal for me, was a huge tear in a curtain in one of the windows. I made sure to let them know of that right away. (Wouldn't want to get charged for that!) 2 big log beds, which I thought were cozy and clean with 4 fluffy pillows. There was also a pullout couch that would be very convenient if we had extra people or kids with us. TV is not a flat screen, but we weren't in the room long, and not any big deal for us. I like that the vanity/sink area was on the outside of the bathroom because it made getting ready for the show much easier for us. Not much else to add about the room, other than I did notice that it came equipped with plenty of extra towels and hand towels and also 2 extra pillows and blankets. The next day, we went downstairs and had breakfast at the little cafe and sat down at a table next to the fire. It was nice to have free WIFI in the lobby so we could check in to the airport while sipping on coffee. All in all we thought the hotel was great! I've stayed at more luxurious hotels and I certainly have stayed at worse. For us it was perfect, and if your planning on bring the kids to the park, it's perfect! I hope this helps.
