This is a property that I would be sure to ask to see the room before checking in. The standards of cleanliness leave a lot to be desired. It is an older place, but this is not an excuse for poor housekeeping. The BR sink had scum around the faucet which needed to be scrubbed. The basin was not cleaned any of the 4 days. You must put the clean now sign on your door to get any cleaning at all.

The desk staff were friendly and nice: The cleaners lazy and willing only to give the 'appearance of housekeeping'.

Can't speak highly enough about this Inn. Very comfortable and good proximity to Cooperstown. Very accomodating staff. Fabulous view of Lake Otsego. AM hot water a little spotty, but just shower a little later and it's fine. I've already recommended this Inn to friends for the baseball tournaments.

I stayed 2 nights at this motel, which is about 5 miles from Cooperstown. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. It's located on a very pretty lake. If you're going to the Baseball Hall of Fame, it's not really convenient, but it's much cheaper than the hotels in Cooperstown. So it's a tradeoff.
I'd stay there again.

This is a good, value consious option for visiting Cooperstown. It's not the Radisson, so I 'm not reviewing it as such. My wife and I and 2 teenaged girls booked two connecting rooms,#11 and #12, on Friday night. For both rooms together it was @ $150.00.(Prices rise sharply after June 30th.) There is a view of the lake, but once summer comes, and the greenery fills in, there probably won't be. Hickory Grove is not beachfront. You can access the water by taking a short stroll down a private road next to the motel. The rooms were older but clean and well maintained. The shower is very small and the hot water took a while to come through the pipes. The t.v. isn't flat screen, but there were plenty of channels. It was a 6 mile scenic ride into the village. The continental breakfast was of the toast , juice and coffee variety. There are pool privileges at the near-by Lake View Motel. This wasn't made clear on their web site so we didn't bring bathing suits. I really liked the atmosphere of this place. Very low keyed, almost old fashioned.
