Came here after taking family to Howe's Cavern. (Highly Recommend, was great time and kids loved the tour..6-4-11 months). checked in to jellystone and the others are right about the hook ups. they are bass akwards for 1/2 of the RV sites. we stayed at 171 and ours had septic on the Right side of the site and water and electric hook up on the left side of the site. - My septic hose is 10 feet so we would have had to run the water and electric accross the middle of the site for it to work. we ultimately talked to the nieghbor and shared the septic by holding and dumping periodically. (poor design) If you must stay here with an RV the sites seemed to be correct on the sites next to ours, so... 169 was right and 173 was right but 171 was the goofy one. Look at the map and try and pick one that within that logic if possible.
What I liked about the site was it was in the woods. kids and I walked in creeks and hiked in woods along with the crafts and playground and pool activities. the Pool was advertised as heated but set your sights low on what you consider heated. We ran out of bug spray... and the store had none and did not expect to get any in while we were staying. Some campers leaving helped us out. *** Here comes the part where I do not sound like an outdoorsman. We have verizon and the entire time in camp we never had service, kind of a pain as we have to be reached due to family/work reasons on weekends. The staff was nice the showers and eminities were what you would expect. We are from Rochester and each person we camped next to said the JS's near us were exceptional in comparison. Last note, we paid for 3 nights and had to leave early after 2 and I asked for a rain check (not a refund) to come back for another weekend upon early checkout and was told no rainchecks or refunds. I completely understand the policy and the place is a business but the $50 i paid for the site was nothing compared to what we spend in ice cream, activities, arcade, etc.... And what is the likelihood i would come back for my one night rain check? Wouldn't it make better business sense to handle that differently? I would have encorporated that one night and come back for another long weekend or week. But that was my last impression there and the fact that I heard from 2 other campers that the other JS's were much better... you can figure it out.
