“"Not worth the money..."”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

Rob, even though seemed nice when we got there, when we checked out he was more then rude. The bill didn't match the estimate and he got aggravated when I tried to explain. Didn't ask us how our stay was or that we should have a safe drive home. We didn't make it to breakfast either day because we were exhausted and slept in. The room wasn't clean (eg. Cob webs on the low ceiling, one trash can in the entire sweet, and bathroom was disgusting). For the amount I paid it was worth it.

Unwelcoming decor
Unwelcoming male host
Rundown inside and out
P.S. should be comfortable with dogs because they have one.

“Location, friendliness and super breakfast -- highly recommended”

We have gone to Cooperstown for the Glimmerglasas Opera and a taste of baseball for the last thirteen years. The last eight of these years have seen us at the Pines of Nelson Avenue. Our repeated vists to the Pines should say it all. This is a wonderful, relaxing bed and breakfast. The location is superb-- walking distance to the Hall of Fame, lakeshore, Main Street, tennis courts across the street -- leave your car at the Pines. NIce spacious rooms on second floor -- very quiet at night. Lovely porch -- excellent for dozing, watching the world go by and, for us, having a leisurely breakfast. Breakfast is different every morning with some choice every day. You can eat in the dining room. Friendly, low-keyed host makes you feel very much at home but is never overbearing (she's too busy in the kitchen!). It's obviously a cliche but the Pines on Nelson Avenue has beccome our home away from home. Book early for opera season; book at birth for baseball hall of fame weekend.

“We loved it and we will be back!!!”

My wife and I along with my wife's sister and husband have stayed for induction weekend every year since 2002. We have always felt at home and it has truly been a great experience at Nelson Avenue Pines. Penny is extremely cordial and and has always been helpful to make our yearly vacation a fun one. The morning breakfast is awesome, especially the French baked eggs.

You will not go wrong by going to Cooperstown for a few days and staying at Nelson Avenue Pines.

“Charming Bed and Breakfast”

Recently my wife and I stayed at this very nice
b&b run by Ms. Gentile and her son Rob. Our rooms were large
and clean and the breakfasts were delicious. It is conveniently
located to all of the village attractions including the Hall of Fame,
the golf course and the Otesage Hotel. We would stay again.

“Home away from home”

My family arrived at Nelson Avenue Pines after a long trip from Philadelphia. When we arrived, it felt like we were "home." What a nice feeling. The home is a beautiful Victorian house located blocks from the Baseball Hall of Fame, but it is nestled back off the street, and you have the feeling that you are in the country. Rob greeting us and informed us where our room was, and places to go to in town. Breakfast was delicious! The coffee was fantastic, fresh fruit, Chobani yogurt, baked eggs, and muffins. What a feeling of satisfaction. Rob was the perfect gentleman. There were activities in town for the whole family. Cooperstown, and Nelson Avenue Pines is the perfect get a way home away from home.
