“Speculator Victorian-style Inn filled with many inviting features...”

What an inviting experience to stay at John & Linda Smirk's B & B in Cooperstown! This was my first time to Cooperstown and to a B &B AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Bed & Breakfast.

Hosts: From the very first phone call to the last call before our trip, John & Linda were so wonderful in helping us book the reservation, providing constant suggestions on where to visit and eat. When my boyfriend and I arrived, they greeted us warmly and helped us get settled into our room within minutes. The inn is a speculator Victorian-style home with many amentities!! Our room was on the top floor, the bed was extremely comfortable and quiet with a nice spacious bathroom. Even though the inn was booked to capacity, our floor was quiet and the room was always extremely clean. The house has a lovely balcony on the second floor to grab a cup of coffee and sit outside to enjoy some fresh air.

The food: And Linda's homebaked goods were divne--loved the snickerdoodle cookies and cinnamon buns plus my boyfriend swore by her cream pies! Plus Linda was so kind to send us home with a plate "to go", which was much better than any baked goods we had in the "continential breakfasts" at regular hotels. Breakfast was delicious and it was fun chatting with the other guests in a relaxed, but elegant setting in the dining room (beautiful dutch-blue plates). What was even more nice was the fact that any time of the day, we could get coffee or tea. They always had fresh coffee brewing plus a Keurig just in case guests wanted a different coffee option. There were always baked goods available to take with you or to enjoy with the coffee.

Location: This B &B was close enough to the main drag near the Museums downtown, so you could choose to walk to and from each day. Plus the B &B was close by major routes to travel to other destinations, like the Apple Cider Mill--definitely a must for families or for anyone interested in nice apple cider plus there is a alcohol hard cider option. Felt very safe and at home during our entire visit to Cooperstown.

We would definitely visit them again in early Spring 2011. Thank you again for a wonderful, relaxing experience.

“Our first experience with a bed & breakfast was a great one...Thanks to John & Linda!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

It felt like home, but with so many extras!! Our room was very comfortable, and quiet with a nice spacious bath. John & Linda were great hosts, giving us a lot of helpful tips and advice on where to go in Cooperstown. And Linda's deserts were divne! We were sure we'd go into "withdrawal" after leaving without her freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. But she sent us with a plate "to go", which was much better than any baked goods we had in the "continential breakfasts" at regular hotels. Breakfast was delicious and it was fun chatting with the other guests in a relaxed, but elegant setting in the dining room. We were close enough to downtown to get in a good walk each day. Felt very safe and at home during our entire visit to Cooperstown. We would definitely visit them again!

“Loved the town and our stay at this B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2010

This was our first experience at a B&B and we loved it, even with two young kids. John and Linda were great hosts, and the location was perfect, with the trolley stopping right in front of the house. Kids loved the bunk beds and the dog, McKenzie. We had a great breakfast prepared for us each morning, along with fresh baked snacks/desserts available throughout the day and evening. We would definately recommend staying at Cooperstown B&B when visiting Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame.

“Warm, welcoming and felt like home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2010

We just came back from a great long weekend at the Cooperstown B&B. The owners Linda and John are incredible hosts, full of information on the town and make a killer breakfast every morning including the most delicious hot entree's, fresh fruit and fresh baked goods that are left out all day to snack on (put on a few lbs for sure). They took us in as if we were a part of their family and fully accommodated my 1 and 4 year old with use of the fridge, high chair and toys! This is a B&B that feels like home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

“What a lovely Inn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2010

We were so pleased to "discover" such a lovely Inn in Cooperstown, NY. The innkeepers could not have been more gracious and welcoming. Our room had every thought-of amenity and included great air conditioning in this incredible heat wave - a lovely plus. We woke up each morning to a terrific breakfast that was sure to meet the tastes and diets of everyone, from fruit and cold cereal, and a choice of toppings such as dried fruit and nuts, to yogurts, all kinds of breads, delicious baked goods, as well as eggs any way you'd want. They continued to offer these delicious things throughout the day, so one could snack on yogurt, fruit, breads, etc. for lunch as well - just perfect when you didn't need a full lunch to tied you over 'till dinner!
We loved the Inn and its proximity as well to all the local restaurants - we walked to each one in the evening.
We loved staying hear and would be glad to recommend it to others.
