We arrived in Cooperstown without reservations, planning on staying in town to walk to the Baseball Hall of Fame and stroll around looking at the old homes, but there were two weddings in town that weekend so most all the B&Bs were booked up. Persistent and hardworking Anita at the Chamber of Commerce found us the Diastole about 2 miles out of town. In the woods, high on a ridge with a beautiful view of Lake Otswego, peaceful. Brigid and Lou were friendly and helpful hosts and served us a tasty and plentiful breakfast. Such a nice place; again on this mostly itinery-less trip we had interesting and pleasant breakfast conversation with the other guests.

Diastole B&B is the perfect getaway. This was our 3rd trip to the B&B and each visit was a dream come true. Brigitte and Lou become family during the stay and it's hard to say goodbye. The view of the lake from the spacious deck was a sensory overload. Everything from the salt shakers on the breakfast table to the Adirondack chairs on the deck are rustic which just adds to the charm. The short ride from the village allows you the tranquility that you could not get in town but yet you are only minutes away from all the attractions. Don't be afraid to ask Brigitte and Lou about where to dine, where to shop or just about anything else.
Try it, you will love it.

We loved our stay at Diastole. We're been to quite a few B&B's, and this was actually our favorite. We were just looking to relax. The B&B is somewhat isolated from the town of Cooperstown; yet the town is easily accessible. The setting is incredibly relaxing; the rooms are lovely; our Adirondack Room had a private deck with beautiful water views; a gas fireplace to take off the evening chill; and Brigitte and Lou are awesome hosts. If you get a chance, go!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Diastole Bed and Breakfast...Brigitte and Lou were wonderful, welcoming hosts.
The private deck off the Woodside Room provided lovely views of the lake and woodland.
The entire property was immaculate and beautifully furnished.
We also appreciated the tips on where to dine and park.
With all the attractions that the Cooperstown area offers, we are certainly planning a return visit.
