My wife and I decided to spend a long weekend in New York to view the Fall colors and enjoy the natural beauty of New York. Our first stop was in Cooperstown to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. We decided to stay at a bed and breakfast. We found the Diastole on the internet. We called the number and knew immediately that it was the place for us. We spoke to both of the owners who were friendly and informative. The setting is about five miles from the Hall of Fame. The setting is stunning. Set in the woods above the lake with evergreen trees surrounded by vibrant yellow and red colors which embraced us like the owners. The home is beautiful. The rooms are decorated with wonderful wood furniture. Each piece chosen by the owners to compliment the setting. Each guest is treated like a member of the family. Breakfast is served at a reasonable time each morning. Each guest is given a sheet the night before to choose from a variety of items that are made after the guest sits at the table which looks out over the woods and the lake. We drove about eight hours from Cleveland, Ohio to Cooperstown and to stay at the Diastole. It was well worth the drive. Connie and Jim French.
