This is the place to stay like being home but better, get treated like a king and queen the room very clean all that needed is there.the breakfast is to die for like you where in heavan. wonderfull people.The town of cooperstown has so much more to offer then just baseball, if fact if you do not carry on about baseball the locals will think your a local.i find the fall would be the best time to go, for the fact not over crowed, the shops are wonderfull and not over priced. you feel like your in a norman rockwell painting, just a trip you will never forget,so if to much stress in your life go to cooperstown the inn and the town is like being in a fairy tale.i would give the rose and thistle a 5 star rating and at that i still think that on the low side.I came home very relaxed clear head, and i offen think of the place and miss it so.

My husband and I had never had the privilege of staying at a bed and breakfast. I arranged a surprise birthday trip to Cooperstown, since he is such a huge baseball fan I figured it would be a nice gift, and it truly was. I chose the Rose and Thistle bed and breakfast, and let me say it was a memorable experience. The proprietors Patti and Steve are amazing people who treated us as members of their family upon arrival. They have a beautiful dog named Morgan who is so friendly. I must say my choice to stay at the Rose and Thistle was a great one as the hosts are genuinely warm people who are in the perfect industry, breakfasts by Steve were nothing short of amazing and the great conversations with them were very refreshing and enlightening. I highly recommend for anyone visiting the Cooperstown area to stay at the Rose and Thistle so you can experience their warmth and great food. It was my first time in Cooperstown and I found the Rose and Thistle on the internet and it looked lovely. We booked rooms and my friend and I were not disappointed. The Inn is beautiful, the rooms nice and comfortable, the breakfasts were delicous - French Toast one day and blueberry pancakes the next with sausage and bacon. The innkeepers Patti and Steve were friendly and helpful and their little dog Morgan is just adortable! The town of Cooperstown is very quaint and of course we loved the Baseball Hall of Fame. We also had 2 nice dinners, one at Alex and Ika's and the other at Nicolettas. We couldn't have been happier with our stay - hope to return one day!

It's all about the hosts and Steve and Patti are the best. So much fun and they help you with everything. Their house is beautiful and the rooms are nice. Their Inn is a 10-minute walk into town and right across the street from a very good Italian restaurant. Great breakfast, excellent coffee, and British teas. We'll come back some day!
