“Adequate”

Love Marriotts but my Residence Inn product experiences have been up and down. This one was a down. The front desk staff was fine but not particularly welcoming, friendly or helpful. The room was decorated nicely though small. But it did have a separate living room area. The shower was not cleaned well and had hair in it which was a giant turnoff. Breakfast was included -- again very average. I think we are done with Residence Inns for good.

“Great Place for Large Groups”

We went to Buffalo for a football game with a large group of people. The two bedroom suite that we shared was terrific. The bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms offered privacy and the common room was large with a gas fireplace and a kitchenette that was more a full kitchen. The malls for the shopping addicts in the group were very close. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The breakfast room was comfortable although the food was average. Hotel staff was friendly and checking in and out with our large group was very efficient. This was my first time at this hotel but the group has been coming here for years and will be back next year

“Experienced it twice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

We stayed at this Residence Inn on our way to Upstate New York, and five days later on our way home. Our first room was fantastic, a two room suite; very clean, fairly quiet except for highway noise which you can no longer drown out with the central fan as they don't allow you to control that, (the whole "green" thing). We noticed on our way down the hallway that someone was SMOKING in this non-smoking hotel, but no one at the front desk ever wants to confront that issue. Well, on our way back we got the room that had been smoked in, you could tell because the Febreeze about knocked you out. The room, another two room suite, #310 if your ever assigned that room, is SOOOOOOOOOO nasty. The carept is absolutely filthy, stains EVERYWHERE, the chair in the living room has been tore apart by a cat, and while yes the room was clean, we were terribly disappointed to find this after such a good experience in #304. As a Marriott Rewards member, this room was extremely disappointing and embarrassing. To top it off my wife got "locked" out of our room in the sense that a screw was loose in the flip lock and while she could unlock the door with her key, she could not open the door because the knob on the lock got hung up on the loose screw. Thank goodness I was inside the room. On a positive note, the laundry room is great.

Room Tip: Do Not let them give your room #310.

“Very Satisfied - Will return in future.”

The location is very close to the Galleria Mall, with quick access to the I-90. The room was very quiet. An occassional plane flew over (the airport is close by), and with the high winds the bathroom vent was flapping (closing the bathroom door helped). Because it was a double room (two separate rooms, each had its own bathroom) and kitchen/common room in the centre, it was very affordable. Excellent breakfast, and very pleasant kitchen/breakfast staff. Unfortunately, can't say the same for the front desk; we needed two things and the effort to help was superficial. Also, there was a lot of rain, and there is no way to check in/out without getting soaked (there is no overhang at the front entrance, and the hotel had no umbrellas). Because of these two issues, the overall rating is very good (and not excellent). All in all, perfectly clean, very quiet, affordable and central location.

“Nice location and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

Was in Buffalo for a weekend trip and this location was the best option. As it is only 4+ miles from the airport, even at night it was easy to find.

Pros: Friendly staff, good location (close to many restaurants and a mall), decent selection of breakfast items and spacious rooms.
Cons: Not many, except that being near the airport you do get some airplane noise starting around 8 in the morning. If you are a light sleeper, prepare accordingly. Layout is a bit different than what you find for most hotels, but I don't know if that is a RI issue or not.
