We were interested in staying at another b&b on the main road in Canandaigua, but they had a minimum stay of 2 nights. Fortunately we were only able to stay in Canandaigua one night. The other b&b recommended the Chosen Spot to us and what a great find this was.

Our first impression was a little unsure when we pulled up and found a for sale sign near the road. The outside was not kept up as nice as we would have liked.

The inside was gorgeous though and our hosts both greeted us so friendly. They welcomed us even as we showed up early. We purposely arranged to stay in a small room because we knew we were leaving early. The bedroom was decorated very lovely. There was a huge jacuzzi tub awaiting us although we didn't have time to use it. The bed was comforatble! Our hosts gave us a tour of the house as soon as we arrived! We borrowed a movie from their huge video library to watch. That was a nice touch. Our hosts offered to make our dinner arrangements which was a nice added touch too! They have a pool they offered to let us use although we didn't have time to swim in it.

Our stay was short because we had to leave early, but our hosts were up and had breakfast ready for us. We enjoyed chatting with them and getting to know them while we ate our breakfast.

These people are saints! My husband left his $600 retainer behind. They immediately called him at home to let him know. My husband offered to pay the postage costs for him to return it via his paypal account. Our hosts immediately sent him his retainer back. He got it within 3 business days after our visit and we still have not gotten the bill for the postage. This was above and beyond what I feel is expected of b&b hosts. These people are just good quality caring people! They don't come any better than that!

We will return especially if there is a good band playing at the Canandaigua performing arts center. Thank you so much for going out of your way for us while we stayed in your home!

This review is long overdue. My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and we were blown away with the hospitality we received. Every day the breakfast was fresh and hot, the conversation warm, and the owners more than pleasant.

Our room was beautifully appointed and very clean. The owners made pleasant conversation each day but did not intrude on our time. There were always freshly baked snacks by the door.

We would return in a heartbeat! Enjoy!

We went away for a birthday vacation over Labor Day weekend and stayed at this wonderful B&B. It is easy to find, located on RT 5&20. Upon arrival we were given a tour of the property and found a surprise when we entered our room (a small birthday cake to help celebrate the big day). We stayed in the Seneca room which was very spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, this is the first time we slept in in a long time. The inn keepers, Pris and Tom, were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the time we spent with them over breakfast. The food was delicious and very filling, there was definitely no need for lunch. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in Canandaigua.

The Chosen Spot (in Canandaigua, which means "the chosen spot" in a native American language) is a small (three rooms) bed and breakfast run by attentive, friendly people. I've stayed in two of the three rooms already, and will try the other soon. Extremely comfortable queen-sized beds (important for aging backs), cushy and firm at the same time because of the featherbed padding; whirlpool baths long enough for me to lie in full lenght (but I'm short); AC; fireplaces; dozens of videos and DVD's available for entertainment. Breakfast is large, delicious, and 'over the top.' Who needed lunch? In the afternoon, Pris puts out homemade shortbread to die for, or berry pies. It was too late in the season for us to sample the swimming pool, but we could see it out the window. Chickens roam the yard (you have to latch the front gate so they don't come up on the porch), making their contributions to breakfast. The one short-coming of this was that we were awakened by roosters crowing on a sunny morning. The next morning (which was cloudy), they didn't start crowing until much later. Probably not a great place for highly allergic people both because of the featherbeds and also because of the friendly cats (who roam the house) and dog. A good bargain - the rooms run from $100/night for the smallest room to $140/night for the largest. And unlike the Ramada Inn, they don't up the prices on you for special weekends. I highly recommend this place.
