“Good stay... Hotel quality much much better than most reviews”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2010

I was nervous going into my stay from all the reviews I have read from past visitors. I planned for the worst and left content and satisfied with my stay. I came with febreze, a candle, my own pillow and blanket. Just in case (nervous with all the negative reviews). Upon entering the room, I gave a very thorough inspection of the room. To my surprise, the room was clean and neat from head to toe. no stains on the floor, wall, ceiling, bathroom or bedding. The lamp shades were pretty shabby, but nothing major. It appeared to have been freshly painted with modern colors. With all the good, there was however a smell of smoke in the room, but nothing my febreze and candle couldn't handle. All in all the hotel worked for our needs for a place to sleep. We spent very little time in the room besides sleeping. I was pleased with the hotel and would stay again.

“Not the Best, Not the Worst”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2009

This hotel met my basic need. I was there to drop off my son at brockport college and I wanted a hotel close by. I truly got what I paid for $60.00. The room was very small and it had a odor that clearly let me know I didn't pay alot. I did not see rodients nor anything that made me stay awake feeling uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean and tight. I plan to stay again because again it met my basic need and it's affordable for an overnight travel. However, I would not recommend this hotel if you plan to stay more than one night.

Walked in and walked out. Horrible smell, the bathroom didn't work and there were bugs. Need I say more?

“A pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2008

Let me start by saying that this is not exactly a 5 stay hotel - you can't even see one from there. BUT!! I gave it a 5 to try to counteract the other scores because my experience was so completely opposite.

I wasn't sure i would need an overnight stay this weekend in Brockport. I checked out TripAdvisor and saw the glowing reviews for the Holiday Inn Express and the skull & crossbones stamped on the Econolodge. So i figured that if a stay became necessary i could just go over to the Holiday Inn.

When i arrived in Brockport it became apparent that i would indeed need to stay so i headed up to the Holiday Inn Express - and found out they were filled up for the night! I almost broke down in tears in the lobby. Even though the Econolodge was less than half the price of a room at the Holiday Inn, i was afraid to stay there after reading all these comments!

When i got to the Econolodge i prepared myself for the worst. Well, the gentleman at the front desk could not have been nicer as he checked me in. My room was clean (believe me, i checked!!) and the bed was comfortable.

Considering i was only there for one quick overnight i could not have asked for more. I got a great night's sleep, a hot shower in the morning, a cup of great coffee at the Tim Horton's right next door and i was on my way.

I don't doubt that other people who posted here were unhappy with their experience at this hotel - but i often wonder what they really expect for a cut rate motel.

My experience was perfectly fine - and i am really glad that i was "forced" to stay there because for the difference in price, it was just fine.

“Never Again”

A dangerous narrow, steep stairway leads up to a tiny room in desperate need of updating. Like another reviewer stated the family lives in the lobby. On the weekends Mom and Dad "clean" the rooms, no fresh soap, no vacuum and shut off the air conditioning so you can return to a stifling hot room. Run away and don't look back.
