“Incredible Place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

My grandson goes to SUNY Brockport, we have been staying at this hotel going on two years, what can I say, this place has a wonderful staff, the rooms are very clean, the breakfast is very good. It is very close (5 minutes) to the college. This hotel used to be called the Holiday Inn but the new owners changed the name, they have complimentary hot coffee, tea, hot chocolate throughout the day and all evening. The staff will take the time to talk to everyone, making them feel like they are special and important. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment, it's perfect and I will continue to stay there for many years until my grandson is out of school. It is also centrally located to the few shops that are in this town. If your ever in this area, I'd make it a point to stay at Dollingers.

“Only hotel in Brockport worth staying at”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

This hotel used to be a Holiday Inn and the new owners have kept the hotel just as nice, if not nicer. Some rooms have been remodeled. The breakfast area is a nice room with a big tv and tables. Half way decent breakfast in the morning with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc.,and many food items that change on a daily basis. Nice if you just want a quick bite before you start your day. I just wish the breakfast was offered for an hour longer on the weekends. The only negatives about the hotel are that there are "smoking" rooms and even if you are in a "non-smoking" room you may smell smoke that comes through the heat/air ducts. BUT if you ask for a room far away from the smoking rooms you will be fine! Also, some rooms that are far away from the lobby may not get wireless internet, but there is a computer in the lobby and you can also hook up with a cable in your room. If you are going to be staying here you better book early because its the ONLY decent hotel in Brockport and if there are any college events going on you may not be able to get a room. Ecno Lodge (the other option in Brockport) is NOT worth staying at.

Room Tip: If you are a non-smoker - ask for a room as far away from smoking rooms as possible.

“Nice stay!”

We stayed at the Dollinger Inn last Saturday night and were very satisfied with our stay.
Our room was comfortable and clean and fixtures and furnishings were recently updated. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. In addition, they offered free beverages including hot brewed coffee in the lobby throughout the day and evening. While the offerings on the complimentary breakfast buffet were fairly standard for a decent hotel buffet, we found the scrambed eggs to be very good!
I would definitely stay at Dollinger's Inn and Suites again and recommend it to others.

“Nothing to complain about”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We spent one night here and it ticked all the boxes. Friendly and efficient staff, nice clean room where everything worked, free wifi, convenient parking, good complimentary breakfast. Location is just to the south of Downtown Brockport, 5 minutes from SUNY. Yes, it is away from the main road but this does not seem an issue to me. Standard rates seem good value.

“Bad”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

Ok , so I requeated non smoking ,got a room that reeked of smoke, no offense smokers.Thought the manager was a bag lady by her apperance, but was most dissapointind as a woman travelling alone, was the lack of security. This place sits up on a hill ,away from everything, backs up to the woods, with a cemetary on the other side , not very desirable for going out at night. Come on 2011 ... no security. I'll stay at a bed and breakfast next time in Brockport.

Dorothy Daniels, General Manager at Dollinger's Inn & Suites, responded to this review

I am unsure as to how to respond to a review that personally attacks me because of my appearance. There are times when housekeeping needs assistance and I do not hesitate to roll up my sleeves and pitch in. By the way, cleaning rooms is a very physical job and I greatly appreciate the efforts of my housekeeping staff. I firmly believe that a good manager must be ready, willing and able to do every job within the hotel, even if that entails sweating a bit. I will not apologize for that. However, I am sorry that my appearance was offensive to one of our guests.

With regards to our security, it is absolutely one, if not THE top priority. We have systems in place including, but not limited to interior corridors, electronic keys, 24 hour staff and security cameras. It is true that we do not have a burly, heavily armed guard at the door. If that was in fact necessary, I am not sure that I would be working here. Our hotel has never (in eleven years) had any incident that should make our guests feel unsafe.

Lastly, without knowing the guest's name or room number, I am unable to investigate the circumstances surrounding the smoke. There was no "smoking" complaint during the entire month of September, so I have nothing to go on. A smokey room is unacceptable and I would have taken steps to accommodate the guest. However, I can not fix what I don't know is broken.
