“Price is King”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

I stayed at the Enclave Inn Bridgehampton back in July- high season for the Hamptons. The "inn" (really a motel) is located just outside the hamlet center of Bridgehampton (where the shops, dining, etc. is)

Pros-

$99 a night. If you've looked at many properties in the Hamptons, you'll see what a great rate this is. Actually, if you look many places these days you'll see what a great rate it is.

The rooms are not bad. It's Ikea furnished, but clean and well maintained. The TV was a nice, wall mounted flat panel.

Cons-

NOISE! You're right off Montauk Highway which is LOUD. I was at the last room (room #10 I believe it was) and I could still hear the road when I turned the A/C off. Bring earplugs even if you're a heavy sleeper.

Bugs. They need to seal the area around the A/C unit better (it's a window unit, which is fine; it does the job) because many bugs came in at night when the lights were on. I'm not a fan of beetles flying around the room.

They say they have WiFi, but it never worked for me.

Besides the bug and noise issue (one of which could easily be fixed by management and the other by the traveler bringing earplugs) my stay was fine due to the price.

The motel is walkable to restaurants and shops in Bridgehampton, but the hamlet/Town of Southampton needs to work on adding sidewalks all along Montauk Highway as well as the Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor TP. It would be great to take extended walks or bike rides without having to worry about being killed by a BMW barreling down the road next to you.

If I paid more, I would have expected more, but at $99 a night, in the Hamptons, during high season, price is king.

PS- Don't expect to be able to easily get in or out of the motel during high season from late morning through early evening. Traffic routinely backs up to East Hampton and beyond which is inconvenient, but expected due to the heavy influx of people during the summer in the Hamptons.

“great location, perfect, if you paid $99/night”

We liked the property, 2 blocks from Bridgehampton main st., beautiful lawn and trees to make it serene. Rooms very simple and clean. Sheets a notch above and down comforter make bed nice. For $99/nite we thought it was great. If you pay more you may think it is too plain. Wi fi was out for 4 days but they did try to fix it. It was off season and we had beautiful weather and really enjoyed exploring the whole island. It is centrally located for everything.

“Reasonably priced nice room in the Hamptons”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2009

We booked our stay in the Enclave Inn to use as a base for exploring the Hamptons villages. We chose this place as it seemed incredibly good value compared to the other places on offer in the area and it didn't disappoint.

The room was fairly basic but roomy and clean so we were happy. I think that if you want any luxuries, you should book else where (and pay much more for the room!) We found the entrance easy to drive past without GPS so keep your eyes peeled.

One point to note was that the pool was quite dirty - having said that, we wouldn't have noticed (as we didn't use the pool area) were it not for the fact that someone told us it was just about to get cleaned.

If we came back to the area, we wouldn't hestiate to stay here again as it is fantastic value for money in an otherwise very expensive area.

“Don't Expect Too Much!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2008

It's apparent that most people don't come out to the Hamptons to stay at an inn because there aren't that many to choose from.

We took the LIRR from the city to the Bridgehampton station, and it was about a 15-minute walk. This inn is very difficult to find, but it is across the street from the high school on the main road, behind a huge wall of bushes. Because we walked from the train station, later on that evening we were able to walk home from the bars downtown because we knew where we were going.

The inn itself is very peaceful. There are tall trees all around, and there is a small pool at the end of the inn. There are around 10-12 rooms total, and all of the rooms have a porch where you can sit and relax or hang out with friends.

It seems that each room is painted a different color. We had the bright sunshine yellow room, and our friends had a milky lime green room. There's not much to the room - a single bed, small shower with great water pressure, a sink in the main bedroom area, a new flat-panel television, microwave, iron and ironing board. Everything was basic, but since we were only staying one night, it was a comfortable place to stay.

  • Liked — Umm... the water pressure in the shower
  • Disliked — Everything else!

“Cute motel”

This Inn is better described as a renovated motel. The rooms are all motel style in the sense that your door leads directly out onto the greens. Yes, the sink is outside of the bathroom but the bathroom and room was very clean and decorated very Hamptons modern/country style. I liked that there was a mini fridge in case we were staying long enough to keep some drinks or snacks in the room.
Because we were there in the fall we did not use the pool and simply used the hotel to sleep after a day of driving around the towns and taking in sights.
The staff were very sweet and even though no one was there to great us when we arrived there was a nice note for us with an envelope with our room key.
I think this is a great value for the overpriced Hamptons and plan on booking here again.
