“Jan 2012 / 2 night stay”

I decided to stay 2 nights at this hotel for my daughter's 11th birthday. She loved the waterpark. It was super crowded on Saturday. I didn't think it was really fair for us that paid to stay at the hotel to share the park with those that didn't stay. I feel that people that paid to stay at the hotel should have the oppurtunity to enjoy the park without outside customers maybe a few hours before closing. We felt that their were a few life guards that need better training. There was one that was encouraging an grown man to slam a ball against the fake rock to make baskets while the kids were in the pool, someone could have gotten hurt if the ball would off hit someone in the face. When my fiance mentioned to another life guard, he did not react. It continued. If my child was to get hit it would have been ugly in there. I am glad it did not get to that point. Life guard Tasha (I believe that's her name, a young girl)put a stop to it without us even mentioning anything to her. "KUDDOS GIRL" She was great. The waterpark manager saw this grown man playing with the ball and didn't even put a stop to it. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

The hotel itself was a little outdated. I thought it was a new place but it looks like the water park is the only thing new. NOT SURE IF WE WOULD GO BACK....NOT TOO IMPRESSED! :(

Room Tip: We stayed at the suite. It was okay. Bathroom way too small. The elevator, halls and rooms smell...

“New Years Eve Family Event”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Great time for families at an affordable rate for 4 people. Staff was very friendly & kid oriented. The only down fall was the long line at check-in. Families should have been able to check-in earlier and enjoy the waterpark until rooms were ready at 3pm. New Years eve hats & noise makers should have been handed out at the door as guests entered for festivities, some families went without. Excellent prizes for the children, although all children names should have been entered into a drawing at check-in for a general drawing. Popcorn in small cups or bags would have given the movies an added touch. Overall, I definitely would do this again.

“Nice hotel...a few quirks but we'd stay here again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

Hotel is conveniently located just outside of Batavia, near thruway. Staff, besides the restaurant which I'll get to later, were very accomodating. Rooms are VERY spacious, with refrigerators, microwaves, large newer tvs, and newer rooms. This is not a 4-star hotel but a high 3 for sure. Lobby is fantastic-beatiful with many comfy sofas, a huge fireplace, a giant screen tv. Everything was very clean.

A few small issues: Food in restaurant just is not good. We've been there a number of times and wont' go back unless we get a free breakfast buffet coupon. They clearly want customers to all order the buffet-which is nothing spectacular. Food arrived cold, and was clearly reheated. One member of our party ordered off the menu, and was given food obviusly straight off the buffet, and when she asked if she could have a fried egg versus what they were calling scrambled (one giant blob of no taste and cold), they acted insulted. We saw the waitresses (and there were 2 for this huge restaurant) being hostesses, taking orders, delivering the food, clearing the tables, and checking people out. Given how long they were in the kitchen, I'm not entirely sure they weren't actually cooking either, maybe which is why they were pushing people to use the buffet. We weren't given drinks at all until we asked, halfway through our meal either. We've eaten dinner here in the past and service, like this visit, was also painfully slow.

We ordered a water park package (new for this hotel). They clearly are separate entities and need to iron out some details before going much farther. They didn't know when we could check-in (it depends was their answer), didn't know how long each day we could use the waterpark, etc.).

Those issues being said, for the price we'd stay here again. Great big rooms for the price, good hotel service, clean rooms, etc. They also have an arcade (also a second one in the water park), a bar, and a computer for public use.

But it was large spacious and uncrowded Breakfast restaurant good- bar good- service all the way around very good. Bathroom was small but all was clean...yes for the money it was very good. Ask for discount coupons at the desk for the bar, casino & restaurant.

“Nice for young kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We stayed with our 2 boys 2 and 5 on a Saturday. We booked the waterpark package. The waterpark was pretty small but perfect for our childrens age. It was very crouded and loud but the kids had fun.Staff are young and spend most of their time blowing their whistle and no one really knows why. Prices are reasonable.Snackbar was nice.

We had a suite which was really perfect for us. The rooms were clean and were as pictured on the web site. We were initially on the 1st floor with our bedroom opening to an in use conference room. They did move us when asked. All rooms have a refridgerator and micro which is great when traveling with little ones. The beds were very comfortable. You can tell they did some cosmetic updates but the age of the hotel is eveident in lounge furniture, carpet, and ceiling tiles. Once you get past the horrible lounges the room really was fine and comfortable. It was very clean as well.

There were a ton of kids staying here. Some were supervised more closely than others. Hotelanagement seems to ignore the yelling, ball throwing and furniture breaking at 10pm so I addressed it. When in the room though it was very quiet and we could not hear the ruckus or the dog barking.

The staff were marginally accomodating. All staff hotel waterpark and restuarant were very young and need additional supervision and customer service training.. the Bel Gusto restuarant was absolutely the worst dining experience of my life. Service was poor, food was worse than poor, food came out cold if it came at all. There were only 4 other parties there and I think they had a hard time too. I think this is another one of those training areas. I could write a whole review just on our restaurant experience. I would avoid it if I were you.

We live only 20 minutes so I would go again. I would have been very disappointed if I traveled far. The kids had a great time so it was worth it. Hope management steps up and makes some changes. this could be a great get away for folks. I would not stay here if I didn't have kids.
