“Excellent place to stay”

My grandson, nephew & I stayed here after going to Darien Lake Amusement Park. Check in went very smoothly and desk person was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and nicely appointed. We used the pool briefly - it was 10pm by the time we got back after eating at a local restaurant.. Beds were very comfortable and clean - in the morning we had plenty of towels for showers. Lots of breakfast foods available for breakfast, but they need another toaster as the one seemed to be in heavy use! Two desk attendants kept the food flowing and they both were very friendly. We thought this was a great motel and would certainly stay here again.

“Decent place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2010

I'm not too hard to please. If you give me a clean room with a comfortable bed, wireless internet, and a shower with decent water pressure, I'll be happy.

We checked in late at night after a long drive, and were curious as to what we'd find once we checked in after reading reviews.

Our room was in the main building, down by the pool. We stayed during the week, so there wasn't a problem with loud kids or anything like that. We were wary of being so close to the pool and next door to the workout room, but we were never disturbed by either. My guess is that on that particular week day, they were not used.

Our room was comfortable and I'm happy to report that the shower had good pressure for my aching shoulders. Another nice thing to find was that there were plenty of towels in the room. A pet peeve of mine is when we get to get to a room late at night where there's only two towels, two hand towels, and two wash cloths. (Small, true, but something that seems like it wouldn't be a big deal to just be sure to have ample towels. The last thing I want to do at 2 a.m. or 8 a.m. is call the front desk for towels.)

The breakfast area seemed like the average size for a breakfast area, although, as I mentioned before, it could be a whole other story on the weekends, as there were only two other people eating when we were in there. I was hoping for some fresh fruit or yogurt, but there wasn't any. Breakfast was pretty standard, with cereal, bagels, toast, eggs, biscuits, bacon, waffles, oatmeal, and juices.

Overall, the place seemed clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again if I was passing through this area, and be sure to have a room in the main building.

“Average, clean hotel with internet...”

Very easy access from interstate. Front desk was polite upon arrival. Breakfast area very small. Pool area small and crowded, however the kids had a blast. Room was clean...didn't find hair anywhere and bathroom and sheets were clean. The only dislike I had were the kids running down the hall at 11:00 at night as fast as they could. Guss that is not the hotels fault, but the parents who were with them, or not with them.

Overall, I would stay here again as it was in a great location, it was clean, it has internet and they fed us breakfast.

“A wonderful place for the children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2010

I am not one who travels often. But when i do i like to travel comfortably. It's hard enough traveling with 3 young children ( ranging from the ages of 5 to 1). Luckily we stumbled onto The Best Western Crown Inn & suites. One thing i can't stand while traveling ( and i'm sure there are others out there like me) is driving around a town i am not familiar with trying find a comfortable place to stay. There tend to be so many located in one area i get overwhelmed. This place was located right off the thruway. Honestly what caught my eye with this place though was the sign that stated free breakfast. 3 young kids and a husband that eats twice as much as them. That alone made my stay. But when we got in the front desk staff was welcoming and efficent ( not always the case in my travel experience). The place was clean and inviting. When i stayed the first time there was still the christmas trees up, which i was informed that one was done by staff and the other by their children. During our dinner ( which we ate in their breakfast room) they even gave crayons and coloring paper so that my kids could color a festive picture and they immediatly hung it on the wall. What a great thing to do for the kids. The kids LOVED the swimming pool (while my partner and i enjoyed their hot tub). which was conveniently heated, and the beds where comfortable. a truely great night sleep. Breakfast consisted of juices, eggs, sausage, biscuts, cereal, milk, bagels, oatmeal, toast, and of course the condiments. My kids loved that they could make their own "breakfast sandwich". One other thing is that second time i stayed ( my return home) they had started something they call a "manager's reception" they gave warm soup i believe little crab cakes and some pizza rolls. along with pop, wine and beer.. All of which was for free with our stay. My kids had breakfast and a snack that i didn't have to pay for. and after when they went to sleep i was able to comfortably share a cup of wine with my partner. How ingenious. I've yet to come across a hotel that does anything similar to this... two big thumbs up. a must stay for a family with children.. even just a weekend get away for two. You won't be dissapointed

“Clean is a word that is not known there”

We, a family with 2 children, stayed there for a night to visit a friend of us. We stayed in a double room with two queen beds. The room itself was not bad but it was really dirty. There were hair everywhere, in the bed (on every single pillow), in the bathroom and on the floor. I do not think that they changed the sheets before we came. It was the first time ever, that I went to the reception (shortly before midnight) and complained about the cleaness but I really could not sleep like this. We couldn't change rooms but we were given new sheets. They said they hired new cleaning staff and they do normally not have such problems. Please check my photos so that you understand, why we were not happy with the hotel. They offer an indoor pool and a gym but we didn't try it so we cannot say anothing about it. The only positive point was the lovely continantal breakfast and this is the only reason why I give two points.
