“found a used needle and leg fetish magazines in suite.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

so we booked 2 rooms 1 a regular double queen bed room, and the 2nd a suite (for the other half of the family), while we were exchanging late b-day and xmas presents...the brother in law decided to do a room sweep ...upon finding a used needle and taking it to the front desk...about 5 minutes later while looking under the couch..he stumbles upon 3 leg fetish magazines in a brown paper bag...ok so if it was just us adults it would have been kinda funny...and given us plenty of material to make jokes about ALL night...but..there being a toddler who loves hiding in cupboards...NOT cool....we were all so repulsed and angered, the desk clerk had refunded the room upgrade cost (10$s)...much to our dismay thats it...seriously...an incident like this i think requires more than that....

aside from the named above incident....breakfast...was hardly impressive...blueberry muffins...yummy...if i only liked blueberry muffins now....eggs and sausage that had been put out at roughly 530 am...and i went for a quick visual of breakfast at 6 (which is when breakfast is SUPPOSED to be served...nothing special...you're better off going to bob evans...

but to start thw hole check in....i have an 8 month old daughter who i had in a light full sleeve onsie and light pants so i open the door to the room to find..NO HEAT...its 22 degrees out..and the room reflects that every degree.so we fiddle with the thermostat thinking thats all that had to be done...and leave for about an hour...coming back...still no heat...ok so tyr it again, another hour later...still no heat..so FINALLY after giving in and asking the poor guy (justin btw, nice guy.) for some help..he informs us its the usual select heat/cool on unit model....ahhhh ok...hmm you think they would put that on a note some where...like..under the thermostat unit maybe..so we get the room nice and cozy only now...it being 3 am...no one can sleep b/c the heater has a mind of its own!...the thermostat is set to 64, and the heater unit is on low heat...we're all roasting...even the baby is cranky b/c its to warm for her to sleep....

this was a planned vacation...BUT we ALL regret it....btw...best ribs in town hands down...is Alex's...head back on 98 take first left about 1/4 mile on your right....go into the "carry out" door...and get atleast a half rack of ribs...!!! they're worth the 25$s if you LOOOOVe and or CRAVE BBQ...only takes 20-35 minutes and is totally worth it....dont go in the main door...out wait in the restaurant would have been an hour..but only waited 20 mins at the carry out door.

oh did i mention the "heated pool"....its warm if you're a polar bear...but for us humans its cold enough to make you regret hopping in with out the toe test...but my self and the daughter sat on the 1st step for 30 seconds and hopped out due to her poor little 8M old body shivering up a storm. none of us were impressed....and will not be staying here again..

Room Tip: how about going to the clarion or some where else...this place is NOT worth 80-115$s a night...

“Average might be a little more of a rating than deserved??”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I stayed here in September with my husband. I went for a work related class and brought my husband alone. We then got to spend some extra time doing sightseeing. My 2 day class at the Genesee County Sheriff's Office; This was a great location for us because the Sheriff’s office was so close I was able to walk to and from my class each day. The walk was not even 5 minutes. My husband then was able to take our vehicle and go mountain biking in the Letchworth State Park which is about 30minutes from this Best Western. There were also a few Restaurants that were in walking distance (if you had to walk) or short driving distance. One we ate at which was very good was called Alex's Place.. It gets very crowded. But the food was very good and you got a lot for your money! You are also very close to Batavia Downs Gaming. Which was something different to do. We wanted to check it out but just didn’t have enough of time. So as far as location it is a PERFECT location to stay and do many things in the area. It is also right off a major highway (Interstate 90).

Ok now for the breakfast... Breakfast was not bad; they put out a nice little spread which was included in the cost of your room. The best part of that for my husband was the make your own waffle station. He loved that!! They did take a LONG TIME to refill coffee and other things they would run out of some days. It seemed like the person working behind the front counter was also the person watching the breakfast area, so if they were busy with someone they took a lot longer to replace these items. I know my husband had to tell them a few times when the coffee was empty and then wait and wait to get more. Needless to say my husband was quite annoyed with this.. Luckily for me I drank tea so I was good.

The room.. It was quite dated. But we did like it because it had a small refrigerator, small sink, counter area, dining table, a couch, table and TV as well as the bed. The room was clean but sometime when it’s such old furniture it makes it look like its not. I always carry Lysol with me so I sprayed the "he!!" out of the bed and couch before we sat on them! They did supply us with paper towels, garbage bags, a sponge and soap for dishes. There were also some glasses, dishes and utensils in the drawers.

The bathroom was ok. It had ok water pressure. I am a big water pressure nut when staying at hotels. My husband and I now travel with our own shower nozzle incase we get to a hotel that the water just drips out of one. God I hate that so much. Anyway this one was ok. The shower curtain had some mold spots on it. SO I made sure not to touch it with any part of my body when I showered. They did give us nice smelling shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion in the little hospitality basket that was in the bathroom. Which I liked a lot.

Ok when you stay at Best Westerns they have this Evening reception. This one was advertised Tuesday thru Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. where you can get FREE drinks and small appetizers. We have stayed at quite a few Best Western Inns for this reason. It’s a nice little added perk.. We came back the first night from being out somewhere to check it out and see what they offered. The room they have this in is rather small compared to the wonderful Best Westerns we have stayed at in the past. This is the same room as the breakfast so it can get quite crowded in there if the room was full. Anyway the room was dark and the doors closed. We asked at the front desk about it and they said someone didn’t show to run it?? Well the next two nights were the same. So they didn’t have it any of the nights we were there. That was a bummer. It seemed they did advertize a few things that they couldn’t live up to.

Business Center – Oh my god. It was an old desk with a computer on it that was so slow and outdated. They also had a printer there but would not put any paper in it? They should not even advertize having a business center because this was not one that’s for sure.

The people all seemed very friendly and helpful any time we asked them for information on the area, things to do and places to eat. Check in and out was easy also. I did feel safe there because I do think a lot of the cliental is either in the law enforcement, fire or health related industry. There were also some groups of construction workers that stayed there while we did.
I noticed all of this from speaking to people who happen to be staying there while I was, in the class I was in and also from the location of the hotel to some of the buildings that were holding
Other training classes.

Guess the bottom line is if I had to go back to the area and pay for a place to stay myself I would not stay here again. For the money or a few dollars more there has to be a more modern and nice place to stay. But if my job was sending me there again nothing was that horrible or bad that I would not go again..

The hotel was not worth taking pictures of but the area was worth a visit!

Room Tip: This is just a suggestion, but I would have liked to stay on the second floor. It might have been a...

“Average BW”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

I stayed at this BW for 2 nights. It was a decent hotel, but not worth the money we spent to stay there. We did book the room last 2 nights before, but there must be better value in the area. Breakfast was pretty limited and the hotel ran out of a few of the items. No problem with the rooms, they were clean and what you would expect from a BW.

“Missing Duvet”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

BEWARE!!! Three professional friends and I made the mistake of staying at this Best Western hotel. We were on our way back home from a trip to Maine. When I received my credit card statement, there was a charge for $50.00. When I called to ask what this charge was for, I was told it was for a Duvet. I am a registered nurse who provides chemotherapy to cancer patients. I have great morals and did not appreciate essentially being called a thief. On two separate occasions, I have returned to the store to pay for something I had realized I was not charged for. Once an i-pod at Target and the other a pair of sun glasses at Banana Republic. (Does this sound like someone who would steal a duvet that has been used by possibly hundreds of other people?) I called and spoke to Sue, who supposedly is a manager according to the clerk I spoke with. Her lack of professionalism was apparent. She was confident in her accusation of me taking the duvet. The possibility of the housekeeper or herself taking the duvet is a strong argument for me. I can't help but wonder how frequently this occurs with out of town honest people like my friends and I. I have stayed at many hotels and have NEVER encountered this problem. None of us have the need or the desire to take something that doesn't belong to us. I am still waiting to hear from the GM, Sue says his name is Jay?

At the Best Western Crown Inn and Suites we strive to make sure every guest has an enjoyable stay in a clean and comfortable environment.
When this particular guest had checked out of his room and the housekeeper stripped the bed he noticed that the duvet was missing and immediately informed the executive housekeeper of this issue, the housekeeper in question lives on the property and would have no cause to have removed the duvet from the room for his personal use.
Sue has been working here as a guest service agent for 12 years .

We stayed for 2 nights. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room was ok, but the bathroom was not clean. There was mold in the sink. This was a bit too much. All it needes is a good scrub. I did see the cleaning staff cleaning the rooms.
Nice location. Breakfast ok, make your own waffles was good.
