We stayed at this B&B on our last day driving through NY state in early October. We had stayed at 2 other B&Bs in NY and Canada during our trip and this place was probably the nicest and most enjoyable of the B&Bs and wished we could have stayed longer than 1 night. When I made the reservation I had said we liked antique shopping. When we showed up, the owner had for us some business cards of local antiques in the area ready for us. The house itself is very quant and well decorated. Plenty of room to sit down and read a book or enjoy the scenery. Since its an old house, the floors squeek but I was fine with it since I grew up in a house like that. That's how old houses are! If your room is on the 2nd floor, you have to drag your luggage up some steps but that was OK for us.
We stayed in the Orchard Room and it was a very nice room with large bed and plenty of space. Probably the only thing we would have preferred was an in-room bathroom (but you don't always get them in B&Bs) but the bathroom was right outside the room. Everything else was great.
The highlight was the excellent breakfast. I had waffles and my husband had eggs/sausage. My husband said the eggs were cooked perfectly. My waffles were light and fluffy and came with NY Maple syrup. You also get fruit course as well and homemade breads. There is plenty of food and we had nice conversations with the rest of the guests.
If we are ever driving or staying in this area, we would definately come back to this place. The room ran around $100 a night which is very reasonable with the great breakfast you get and nice house/scenery.
