We were traveling back home from a family reunion in Albuquerque and decided to pull into the DESERT INN in Tucumcari, NM for the night., Worse mistake of my life! We rented 2 rooms, one for my husband and myself and then one for my mother & mother-in law. After only being there for less than 2 hours I noticed bugs in my bed. I immediately called the desk clerk to my room and she said she would refund my money. However, when we packed up all our stuff and went to the lobby, she said, the owner wouldn't refund the money only offer us another room. Now who would want to stay in another room after finding bugs in the bed in one room. She said she didnt believe me and that was all she was going to do. After talking to the police, because she refused to refund our money, we decided to check another room in the motel just to be sure. The front desk clerk went with us and we found bed bugs in 8 other rooms We called the owner back (who also happens to own another motel in Albuquerque) and she ordered us off the property saying we deliberately put the bed bugs in the motel. LOL!! How we put them in all 8 rooms I do not know. I told her since there were no other rooms available in her motel, she should refund our money. She finally agreed to return only $51.05 of our $113,40 which is the amount we paid for 2 rooms and demanded we leave her property. I told her I would be glad to leave but I wanted her to know I was going to write a bad review on the internet and she said if I did, She would charge all the lost business to my credit card. This lady is Wacky!! The sheets were stained and nasty as well as the pillows.Wi-Fi did not work and the pool was green with mildew since the pump had been broken for 3 weeks and the ceiling was falling down in the pool area. As the previous review stated...RUN!!! from this place. !!!!!!!!
