We had planned to make it to Amarillo but needed to stop early. We didn't have ressies but checked out the tiny town and this Hampton looked to be the best of the lodging. Hamptons are usually really good, as part of Hilton, and this one was too.

We enjoyed the indoor pool (a nice size) and hot tub and had them all to ourselves. We looked for a target or walmart and found only a kmart, but people are really nice in this town.

The place is clean but the beds should be replaced. One of our kids woke up with a bad headache (very unusual) and upon checking the bed, the head part DID slant down quite a bit. Mentioned this at check out and received 20% off. The hot breakfast was good, the usual hampton fare.

We wanted to make it to Amarillo Hampton but were having car problems so it was okay but the internet was dog slow (no high speed there) the eggs were cold in the morning along with running out of batter for pancakes. There was also something up with the room that made my allergies go crazy so I had a miserable night of sleep. I'd much rather stay in the Santa Rosa, NM or Amarillo, TX Hampton next time. We received a 'refund' for the 100% satisfaction promise from Hampton (only the 2nd time we have done this) so there is that (Hampton does stand behind that promise!)

A good place to stay while traveling, although there is nothing in the area. Nice facility. Clean. Hospitable staff. Excellent breakfast.

DO NOT GO to the Branding iron for meals at the Quality Inn. horrid.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the lobby. The rooms even smelled clean. We were only there for one night but we had traveled over nine hours that day and the bed was comfortable and a welcome respite after a long travel day. We were also impressed by the choices we had for breakfast and the coffee was hot and they gave you several choices of coffee strengths which was nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again.

I researched the internet for a good place to eat dinner when we arrived and we ate at Dells which is evidently world famous. We had their chicken fried steak and it was very good. The salad bar had lots to choose from and would go back there again. Their southwestern food looked very good so we may try that next time we pass through.
