“It is.... what it is”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We came to ski Taos, did not need great room, stayed 4 nights, had the king room facing the quasi-courtyard. PLUS...good location, within walking distance of plaza, great in-room heater, warm shower, relatively clean room(spotty maid service, 1 day did not do anything but make bed), easy parking near room to carry gear. NEGATIVES...pretty much poor to NO WI FI, breakfast room a mess, bad coffee, did not open on time, a few locals came in daily, took all of the yogurts and bagels...to go !staff did not replenish or clean up (looked like they had to do check out too?) Come expecting a place to lay your head, nothing more.

“Not so good.”

Fairly quiet and very nice beds; otherwise, I think it was overpriced for what it was. The walls were dirty and the wifi was spotty at best and very slow. Breakfast was your choice of bagels with no cream cheese and horrible coffee. The front desk personnel was surly and said they would give us a lower price for the second night and then charged us the full amount again. Wouldn't stay here again.

“Reasonable for the price in Taos but...”

Stayed one night on way from Antonito (You must visit the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad!) to Albuquerque. Room was fine but no basin plug! I thought I was back in a 3rd world country... if your wife or girlfriend wants a hairdryer get one as you check in - unbelievably they don't have them in every room nor do they have enough to go round. I thought of going out to buy one and charging them but slothfulness overcame me. Might have given it a 4 but no hairdryer and no plug are such basic failings it's a 3.

“Don't Be Discouraged by the Outside”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

DO NOT get the two queen rooms in the building that faces the parking lot (unless they have been remodeled at some point - ask to look at them first). But DO get the King rooms that face the courtyard. Nothing fancy - but clean and quaint - and pet friendly. Almost seems like two different hotels between the one building and the other. Front desk staff is friendly and very helpful (especially Carrie!). A decent stay for the price.

Room Tip: Definitely get the building with all King rooms - Queen rooms building in desperate need of remodeli...

“What a pleasant surprise”

I read the reviews and decided to stop here. My husband and I looked at each other in the parking lot and I told him we should probably look elsewhere. He suggested we at least look at a room based on the reviews. I went to the front desk and asked to see a room. It was wonderful! The room was clean, quaint, with a very comfortable bed. We loved the courtyard area overlooking the adobe fire pit, animals in the distance, picnic area and overhanging trees. We didn't expect the free continental breakfast which was so well done. It was such a lovely area and we had a wonderful stay.
