I was traveling to Taos on business and decided to stay in a place with which I was familiar. I had previously stayed at the Kachina about 20 years ago, and it was great. Unfortunately, nothing has changed in the intervening 20 years, and the place is in serious disrepair. The rooms were seriously in need of renovation. When I checked in, the maid had left the vacuum cleaner in the middle of the room and the cart just outside the door. The only way I can describe the "aroma" of the guest rooms is "porno theater." (don't ask). In any event, this will be my last stay and I anticipate this once charming accommodation becoming a boarded up eyesore one an otherwise charming drive through Taos.

You mention your stay here 20 years ago, you say it was great. You also said; nothing has changed? We have done many renovations at the Kachina since you were here. A vacuum was left in the middle of the room and a cart outside. This sounds as if the maid was not finished cleaning the room. You should not have gotten the key. For this we apologize. If you would have told us, we could have changed your room. We are disappointed your stay here was not up to your standards. Along with our profuse apology and if it is at all possible, we would appreciate another chance. Please contact Carolyn at the Kachina Lodge.
