We enjoyed our stay at this Super 8 motel, in Socorro.

This motel is very easy to find and has lots of parking. There's also a nice restaurant adjancent, reasonably priced. The rooms were big enough and clean. When we checked in, the clerk was a little surly, but the rest of the staff was fine. This motel has more than one building; we had to go to another one for the breakfast, but there was no problem. (the breakfast is in the same building as the front desk.) But you needed your room key to go into the other building. Breakfast offered standard fare, but had plenty of seating, food, and area was clean. We stayed here as we were visiting the VLA, which is about 65 miles one way from Socorro. When going to VLA be careful while in this city; you need to make a left at one point in Socorro, and this is dangerous (we were traveling during am rush hour) and you need to be really alert--they need a light here. Once past this dangerous intersection there's no problems getting to VLA (where Jodie Foster's movie Contact was filmed.) I would definitely stay here again. I felt very safe. There's also a public computer, right in front desk area. A definite plus.

I got placed here by my work for 5 nights. I wouldn't want to spend too much time here. If you are staying for a night, it should be ok. It is so easy to get on and off the interstate and get gas, and some food. But I wouldn't dine at K-Bobs Steakhouse. Try Carlos and Lupes.

The hotel has two buildings. The one behind the steakhouse I think is newer. I was placed in the main building which is showing its age. The air conditioner was falling through the wall. You could see through the gaps in the side without much hassle. There were also smoking suites that you could smell on the stairwells. The laundry room was currently gutted and will be remodeled.

The breakfast varied a little each morning, all self serve, and nothing warm. It was nice enough, as it was available very early and you could also access stuff later in the day.

I opened a closet door in the hallway and found stacks of boxes with invoices and maintenance records. I didn't look through it, but it concerned me.

It was a fair enough place to stay. The microwave and fridge was a nice amenity to have for my extended stay. I saw the guy cleaning the pool each day. I didn't go swimming as it was quite cold.

Oh and don't speed through town. There were police everywhere.

My husband is a semi-truck driver and sometimes I travel with him, there is semi-truck parking,laundry,a resturant next door,the room was clean,the bed was comfortable,wi-fi,and there were real glasses to drink out of intsead of the normal plastic super 8 cups,they have those too.overall I like this one,and I would reccomend this motel if you want to save money .
