“New Years Eve at Wild Side - Out of Africa”

What a fabulous experience. We stayed for only 1 night, drove 3 1/2 hours from Johannesburg. Tents were quite luxurious and had everything that we required. Bed was very comfortable. The game drives were awesome and saw the BIG 5. Spent NYE with the other lodges dining and drinking. Breakfast was excellent and staff were wonderful. They even have a swimming pool.

Room Tip: We stayed in Tent No. 2 looking out over the escarpment.

“Entabeni Wildside Camp - Great intro to Safari”

We arrived at Entabeni Camp after a 3.5 hour drive from Johburg Airport to be greeted with a cold drink and a smile. Our guide for the three nights we were there was Nestur and he was great, he gor us within reach of lions/giraffe/zebra. We were delighted to find 2 cheetah's on our 3rd day. The accommodation was very comfortable, beds were good size and shower was large and water hot. Every morning we left at 6am for 3 hour safari and then again at 4pm for another safari. Food was tasty and there was always lots of choice. Pool was small and temperature was cold!

“Peaceful setting and a clean room with all we needed”

My friend and I visited Entabeni for the Big Five Marathon. The hut we shared was clean and pleasant with space to hold our bags and move around easily, and not too close to surrounding huts. The room was basic and twin beds with electric blankets, a safe, fridge, kettle and shower room all worked fine. There was a cheap laundry service (~$2.50 for trousers!), plenty of tasty varied food and organised activities with friendly staff and knowledgeable guides. I definately recommend Wildside as a basic escape and will stay here if I return to Entabeni.

“Excellent place to see a wide variety of game”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2010

Stayed there for three nights with the family in November. We had a great time, especially on our drives with Lanie. We were spoilt on our first drive as within the first hour we had seen Hippos, Elephants, Lions and Cheetahs. Subsequent drives were just as good.

Most of the drives from Wildside stayed on the lower side of the reserve, which is the larger side of the reserve. It is an "easy access" game reserve in that we did not have to search that hard to find a lot of the animals, though if they want to hide they will, especially, stragely enough. the elephants.

Friendly staff in and around the camp.

The tent/room we had was very spacious and kept clean. Only one scorpion during our stay there. You cannot wander around at night as the camp is open to animals. There was a lion wandering through the night before we arrived. While we were there a herd of Impala wandered between the tents while we were walking to reception one morning to get on the jeep.

Had a great relaxing stay here.

Make sure you take a warm jacket or jersey though, because even in early November it was cold in the mornings and evening.
