My husband and I spent 3 days in Mohlabetsi and loved it. We arrived at the hotel a little after 4 hours after the safari tour has left. Even so, they kept a car waiting for us so we could go to the safari in that afternoon. Our guide "Solie" was excellent and at that first day, we saw elephants, rhinos, giraffes, impalas and many other animals. On the last day, a leopard came on the road and we were ecstatic. Solie, tirelessly, made ​​everything possible (and impossible), so we could see more and more closely that animal so rare. We feel like we were in a real safari, this time off-road. Terrific! All the hotel staff is very kind and concerned about making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The dinners outdoor around the campfire, under the stars, were fantastic. What wonderful nights! And the food was amazing. I recommend Mohlabetsi to all who wants to enjoy the wildlife of Africa with maximum comfort and hospitality.

My family and I stayed at Mohlabetsi from the 11th to the 13th of August. On arrival at the lodge we were greeted with a warm welcome by the staff. We were offered refreshing welcome drinks which was thoughtful after a long drive from Johannesburg. The staff took our luggage to our room and parked the car for us. We then went on our first game drive. We saw four out of the big five on that drive!! The guide and spotter did an amazing job finding the animals and sharing interesting facts and stories on the animals and habitats. It felt like we were on Natgeo! We traveled with our children ages 14 and 8. The smaller landrovers they use make for an intimate game drive suitable for young children. There were 6 guests on the vehicle. Refreshments are offered on each drive. My only complaint is that they serve instant coffee on the early morning drive. Breakfast is freshly made to order. Loved the fresh guava juice and exotic fruit. Dinner was quite the affair, outside under the stars. First dinner we were treated to a south african braai, and the second dinner they served a fancy french chicken pot pie. The accommodations were exquisite!! We had a family rondavel which had two bedrooms with a king size bed in one and two single beds in the other. Each bedroom with its own bathroom. We enjoyed the turn down service and outside showers. There is nothing as liberating as taking a shower outside!! Our family has declared our South African trip as the best ever. My eight year old says it beats Disney world hands down. You will not be disappointed at Mohlabetsi!!

This lodge was a highlight of our game viewing trip to S. Africa. The accomodations, food and service are excellent; and the game drives are outstanding. This delux private reserve offers much better game viewing than in Kruger.

We stayed at Mohlabetsi for three nights at the end of August 2011. It was a wonderful experience. Great staff and very informed rangers and trackers. A special thanks to Lucky. We would highly recommend the lodge and the drives. Great value for money and a laid back ambience.
