“Nice mid-town roadside lodge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2007

This was a great place for our weekend trip. Cabins were very rustic and charming. Very nice atmoshere. Very clean. Stayed in a king suite cabin - perfect for a couple. Staff was incredibly friendly. Road noise is audible in the morning - anytime of the day really. If you are looking for a secluded cabin in the woods to enjoy nature this is not the place. However, I would definately stay here rather than a LaQuinta or a condo. If you want to have a nice authentic-feeling trip to the mountains and don't mind staying in a small complex (not alone in the middle of the woods), this is a great place.

  • Liked — Very nice inside the cabin - great room
  • Disliked — raod noise

“Apache Village Cabins Very Charming”

Friends recommended Apache Village Cabins to us. They stay there at least once per year and we are now doing the same.

I found Apache Village Cabins a very nice place to stay. The cabins are small and rustic but decorated very nicely. Very close to Mechem Drive but it seems that a lot of other hotels, etc are close to that highway as well. Very convenient location.
I really liked the fact that you didn't have the management staff hanging out watching your every move. We stayed at a motel down the road that actually did watch every thing you did and even timed your stay in the hot tub to 15 minutes!

I like having a kitchen and being able to bring food, drink, ice etc.

Will be staying again this September and I hear some remodeling has been going on so I am anxious to see it again.

“Cheap, basic place to stay thats close to town”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2006

We stayed here June 2006. First the good: The cabins are close to Riudoso and anything you might want to see. They are CUTE and clean inside. Just wonderfully designed. Very reasonable rates, we paid about $69.00 for family of 4 a night. Deer are right outside the parking lot. The cabins were equipped nicely. You will love the way they look. Now the bad: Cabins are crowded together and the outside area looks like a cheap trailer park. They even have a big old mobile home right in with the cabins (what were they thinking?) that ruins the atmosphere. From the pics you'd never know how crowded the cabins are and a blade of grass couldn't be found. The owners really need to pick up the parking/yard. There was little trash everywhere! Bottle caps, string, food wrappers...uggg. Really depressing. It looked well used and not appealing. The cabins had NO Air conditioning! It was real hot during the day, but cold at night. You will not want to stay inside during the day. The remote and shower were broken, but the office closes at 5:00 so no help there. Big deal because the tv is mounted up high, so you need the remote and the shower nearly drowned us pointing in our face, yet you couldn't get you hair wet! Kinda funny, but not if you want a shower. NO phones or pool. Nothing to do except watch cable tv and let the kids play with bits of other peoples' trash. Worst of all, the window screens were broken (open to the outside) and dirty so you were afraid to leave the windows open at night to cool off because one of the riffraf staying close (real close) might steal your kids from the next room through the broken screens. No windows open in the living/kitchen area so it can't cool off. If you leave a dirty dish, you have to pay extra and no maid service between nights there. If you need a cheap place right in town and you aren't concerned with the outside (or a/c) you'll be happy here. Just be adaptable.

“Good location, good value”

This is a very clean and maintained place. We stayed in the king suite cabin which had a kitchen. These cabins are rustic but have been remodeled recently and were spotless. I will definitely stay here again. If you are looking for a nice clean cabin for a reasonable price this is it.

“Inexpensive, Good Location, Charming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2006

When I made the reservation so cheaply, I was concerned, but I just wanted a cheap place for me and my girlfriend to stay for a couple of days. We had decided that we wouldn't mind "roughing it" based on the price, but Apache Village exceeded our expectations. We stayed in one of the smaller half-cabin rooms. It was tiny but cozy and had obviously been recently renovated with some great attention to detail! Everything was clean and comfortable. Great location, close enough to walk to the downtown shopping area.
