“Fresh and Modern. A great place to stay in Roswell.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

The Fairfield Inn was a pleasant surprise. It appears to have been recently remodeled and has a fresh, modern vibe. The room and other areas of the hotel were very clean. The included breakfast buffet was the best I have seen and the food was tasty and fresh. The fare included waffles, egg sandwiches, cereal, fruits, yogurts, juices and coffee. Everything was fresh.
The hotel pool and hot tub were clean and in good working order. The lighted pool patio area was a pleasant place to read a book late into the evening. The area is busy, but the hotel room was quiet, and only a mile or two drive to the UFO Museum. Also, the customer service was excellent. When checking in/out I felt that the staff really cared about my visit/experience.

While in Roswell don't miss the UFO Museum located on 114 N.Main. Whether you are a believer or not, the presented information and displays really make you think about what may have happened. Also on Main street there are some delightful stores. We visited Space Center which has a marvelous black light "sideshow" called Space Walk. It was $2 to get in and well worth it. Another store with a "sideshow" is Cosmic Juke Box. There you can step into an alien display and take your own photos. Their charge was $3.

For those wanting to visit the actual crash site location...good luck! We attempted and found basic driving directions on-line. Note that the site is 75+miles outside of Roswell. It is very slow going over barely paved 1 lane roads, through nothingness. Some cattle, sheep and tranatulas call the area home. On very rare occasion you may need to pull over as far as possible to allow a cattle truck to go by. There is no cell, radio or internet in this area. GPS maybe if you have coordinates (which we didn't). In other words, let someone know where you are heading, take water, snacks, hiking shoes (if your car breaks down you may need to walk quite awhile),jacket, sunblock. According to our directions we were within 3-4 miles of the site, but the road became to rough for our car to clear, so we turned around.

We always stay at Fairfield Inn no matter where we travel.
Hotel is fairly new. Room was clean and offered a small refrigerator, microwave, and wifi, internet.

The pool area was nice and offered a BBQ grill for cooking out.
Service was exceptional and very friendly staff.
We stayed on the main road side of the building and the noise was hardly noticeable which the attendant mentioned when we checked in. Roswell has several Chan restaurants for dining. Great italian food across the road at Pasta Cafe. Very worth the walk across the street.

We would definately stay here again!

“Just excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

This was the 9th hotel we stayed in on our Las Vegas to the Gulf of Mexico and back, over 4,000 miles.
Roswell, New Mexico was one of the stops we had planned. We were not disappointed, Roswell is a nice town and the residents were very friendly towards us.
We stopped at the Fairfield Inn and Suites and were instantly made welcome.
We asked for a King bed and was given a King Executive suite without asking for it, I just wished we were staying for more than 1 night.
The room was very clean, and looked very new, nothing was tatty, bed linen clean and ironed.
Although we didn't use it they do have a guest laundry, a market place a lovely pool and hot tub, although the pool was a little deep for me as I'm not a strong swimmer but shallow at one end and sloped gradually.
A very adequate fitness centre and a computer centre for guests to use.
Very comfy bed and lovely to have a suite so we could just sit on the sofa and watch tv and relax after a long, hot day driving.
Breakfast was very nice, continental but some hot food too.
We went to the Spacecraft Museum next day and the staff there were also very friendly.
Free parking.

We would definitely stay in this hotel again and will look out for Fairfield Inn and Suites on our future road trips.

“Great new room in Roswell”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2011

We stayed overnight in Roswell, NM on our way home from a Christmas road trip back East.

The hotel seems very new and fresh, with the usual layout - a bright cheerful lobby/breakfast area, interior corridors, elevator, etc. Our room had double beds, TV, bathroom, and the usual amenities, and was quite cozy and warm. However, we found the in-room coffee (branded Bold Beginnings) to be pretty bad; in fact, undrinkable.

The breakfast was the usual assortment of juice, coffee, cereal, eggs, toast/bagels, and a waffle maker. Since I saw the downstairs coffee was also Bold Beginnings, we skipped it and went to Starbuck's a block away a little later in the morning.

Overall, we had a good stay here; just don't drink the coffee.
