If you are in or around Raton and stay anywhere besides this place then you will be sorry. not only is it a great value, It is a great place to stay. My wife and I love the feel of the old-style motels and this place definitely does it right. You get Tim, who is a great host, clean and comfortable room, a steam bath to refresh you from a long day on the road, and a chance to see a bear (coming from a person who is terrified of bears that was pretty neat). The bear was not at the hotel, but Tim told us where to go if we wanted to see one.

This place really is great. We will definitely be back the next time we are coming through the area and look forward to staying here again.

This motel is an older structure, nothing fancy, but it's been maintained and it's clean. The manager was outgoing and helpful.

Our room had two double beds, a small TV, no refrigerator, bare bones. Each room has a dedicated parking spot. We were warned to remove all food items from the car because black bears come into the neighborhood during the night, but, unfortunately, we didn't hear or see any ;-).

Walk to the little historic downtown 3 blocks over and read about the Italian immigrant who ran the mercantile shop there. We watched passengers board the the Amtrak bound for Chicago. Expect fast food options in town.

I recommend this place for an overnight stay if you don't need but a bed and shower and quiet. I have no complaints about this place for what it is.

If you travel on a per diem budget, don't look anywhere else! Ask for the government employee discount and then ask where to eat. You can afford both... and still enjoy a clean, decent room. The breakfast isn't as fancy as upscale properties, but you'll have the $ to eat in town if you choose (Chris's Bakery and Cafe is a good start).

Right off the I-25 yet quiet. Clean with all the needed amenities plus breakfast with good coffee. Yes, It's older but has the basics. Best bang for your buck. Would definitely stay there again without looking elsewhere!
