“The Right Place for the Right Time”

I stayed 3 nights due to work during the Los Alamos fires and the hotel housed evacuees and their pets until they were allowed to go home. I found that heartwarming and supportive of their own communities to do that. A perk for for me is having free access to the Wellness Center which is a short drive into the reservation. The Wellness Center provides a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. It made my stay even better. I'd go back!

So i think that on a scale from 1 to 10 i would definitely rate this place a 9. we stayed for a whole weekend and was amazed by how curtieous the staff acted. i think for the location being so close to the hotel, the food being home-cooked, and the general atmoshpere of the company that they held. it was an enjoyable pleasure!

“Decent, nothing to write home about.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2010

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of weeks off and on for business and found the rooms acceptable. They were clean, but the furniture was a bit on the older side. Beds weren't the most comfortable and that is the one thing I would recommend the hotel works on improving.

“Could have been better...”

We stayed for two nights, the room wasn't bad. Our room was located near the exit where the employees would go to smoke and that was a bit unpleasant. We did like that the room was attended to quickly each morning while we were out. The attached restaurant isn't too bad but if there is a conference going on in the hotel, wait staff can be a bit overwhelmed at meal times.

  • Liked — Fairly close to cultural activities and the casino
  • Disliked — Lack of customer focus

“Last visit to cities of gold”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2007

I went to Cities of Gold with my parents and it was booked through a casino host who is absolutely the best. Anyway, the stay was bad from the start. The reservation was wrong and they were very, very rude about it. Almost every day, we had to go to the front desk to get new room keys because ours would not work. The hotel itself is very run down and they obviously take no pride in keeping it up. There were broken beer bottles on the walk that stayed there our whole stay, the rooms are very worn looking but my biggest complaint are the rude, uncaring people that work at the front desk. We had pretty good luck at the casino but will not be back. There are casinos in OKlahoma and Colorado that actually care if you come back. We will spend our money at the Double Eagle in Cripple Creek, Great comps and very good service. My tip to you is to find somewhere else to stay. Espanola has a good casino and hotel.
