“Quiet, relaxing, lovely -- and so comfortable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

My husband & I stayed the weekend for a much-needed get-away -- and we were so glad this is the place we chose. We stayed in the "Romantic Get-away" suite, which was decorated in comfortable-yet-elegant Victorian style, complete with a 2-person jacuzzi. The bed was very nice -- very clean -- very comfortable. Bonnie was a wonderful hostess -- calm and easy-going, just like her lovely home -- and she's a great cook! She made 2 delicious breakfasts -- so nice to sit down and be served a beautiful breakfast! I felt pampered. The front porch/patio sitting area gave front-row seats to an absolute "swarm" of hummingbirds, all feeding (some fighting...) on the 3 hanging feeders there -- so fun to watch! We were mesmerized! It's out in the woods, so it's all very secluded. On our way back from dinner in nearby Ruidoso, we saw a HUGE buck with a very large rack of antlers standing regally on the side of the road... posing for us briefly before he trotted back off into the forest (and fortunately not into the road!!). This was another rare treat! We loved our stay and would highly recommend to anyone needing an escape. Bring a book and a desire to relax -- and you'll have found the right place!

Room Tip: Romantic Getaway Suite has 3 rooms -- bedroom, bathroom w/shower & double sinks, and sitting ro...

July is such a great time to come to the cool mountains and since we are only 10 minutes out of Ruidoso you got to do many fun things also. I love the fact that we are 10 degrees cooler than the Village also. It was a pleasure having you as our guests and so glad to see you could relax. We specialize in relaxation. Everyone needs a break from the fast lane and this is the most lovely place we could find and now we want to share it with others.

“Fabulous Bed and Breakfast experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

We wanted a quiet, relaxing weekend and this was the perfect location. Bonnie cooked wonderful breakfasts all 3 mornings and made some special snack surprises each day as well. She even fixed us a to-go breakfast for our last day since we had to leave early in the morning. The hummingbirds on the front porch are fascinating. It is isolated from Ruidoso but that was exactly what we were looking for. It is a very easy and beautiful drive back into town. The stars at night were spectacular as well. Give Bonnie a call and experience a wonderful romantic weekend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Romantic Getaway Suite. Very nice.

“Amazing experience!! Do not miss out on this incredible B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

I recently took my girlfriend to Evergreen Manor as part of a weekend trip in order to propose. When I spoke with Bonnie over the phone when I booked the Romantic Getaway 3 room suite, I told her of my plans. Within the 2 weeks before our arrival, Bonnie helped coordinate a perfect romantic weekend that included an evening carriage ride in nearby Ruidoso and a fabulous picnic on the grounds of an RV park nearby Bonito lake. I was a little nervous planning an event so important without seeing the lodging accommodations or the site of the picnic. The weekend could not have gone better! Bonnie catered a gorgeous and delicious meal outside at a location with a backdrop of the beautiful New Mexico mountain forest and a small stream running through the forest. She set up a table for us with a dozen roses at the centerpiece. The Romantic Getaway suite at Evergreen Manor was fabulous and spacious. The rest of the house and surrounding grounds were also fantastic. We stayed for two nights, both breakfasts were among the best breakfasts I have ever eaten. Bonnie and David were great conversationalists which made the whole experience more enjoyable. Bonnie and David allowed me to turn my dream engagement proposal into a reality, my new fiance will have fond memories of the weekend for the rest of her life!! We will definitely be back to stay again!!

Room Tip: Bonnie and David are awesome!! They know the Ruidoso area well, so be sure to ask their input on ac...

“A quaint, charming place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

This B&B is comfy, cozy...like being at your grandmother's house. The room was quiet, comfortable, and very clean. Our host and hostess (David and Bonnie) were friendly and treated us like they'd known us for years. Bonnie makes a delicious breakfast. I highly recommend a stay here.

“Hidden Gem - even for kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2011

Although, we have always had good experiences with most Bed and Breakfasts, we were unsure of what to expect, as this was the first time we were bringing along our 6-year old and 9-year old daughters with us. Our 9-year old daughter has multiple food allergies (milk, nuts and sesame) and we had anticipated that we would probably have to make do with the foods we had carried along with us. But, to our surprise, Bonnie whipped up delicious breakfasts for her that my daughter happily gobbled up. My daughter even asked me to get the recipes from "Miss Bonnie", so that I could make them at home. Bonnie was a wonderful hostess. She gave us good suggestions to help plan where we ate and what we did without being intrusive. She was very patient with my 6-year who, I think, would have been perfectly happy spending the entire vacation with Bonnie and her dogs. On the last morning, Bonnie even packed some muffins for us for our trip back home.

We had a room of our own with a loft bedroom for the girls. There was a nice-sized living area with a TV and board games where we could hang out as a family. The rooms were clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the treetops (I can see why it's called Evergreen). The girls loved having their own little space upstairs to hangout. All-in all a wonderful experience!
