“Yikes! What a nightmare...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

Hello travelers,
I would like you all to know that I was stuck in that little town like many others were on December, 22nd at 7 pm.
I knew they were going to close the roads due to safety reasons but I'm from Utah and if you snowplow a road it takes about four hours and then you let people back on the highway, however this town decides that it should close the highways day's!
Anyway I made a reservation with Priceline and this stupid motel six says they will not honor Priceline, they will only honor their own websites reservation system or you have to physically be there..
I come in just as the front desk girl gives my room to another girl, I know this because she said the only room they had left was a king room non smoking( same room I ordered off Priceline). The other girl walks in and actually gives her this room in front of me, I show her my confirmation number and she declines saying she will not honor those "other" sites.
I end up sleeping in my car since and realize these people have no empathy. I mean normally you try to help someone out but I understand now that this tiny town has a history of making people stay there with the cops blocking the highway not letting anyone in or out of the city, literally your trapped there! The town only has a few hotels which all fill up. It's a scam because the snow is not that bad maybe three feet? Not worthy of locking it down, at least let people get to Santa rosa where there are motels that will take priceline reservations.
I've called priceline and told them the situation. I've called motel six moriarity and talked to the manager heather who I'm still waiting a call back from (lol)
I'm still so mad at this place for denying my reservation and giving it to another girl who did not have a reservation but was willing to pay them bigger money, see how much they care?
I'm writing on here, which I try to be understanding but this was plain mean.
The whole thing is about money they couldn't give a crap about helping anyone out even in a supposed snow storm.

Room Tip: Do not go online you will be roomless and most likely sleep in your car or the shelter.

“Typical I-40 Motel 6”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

I recently started training and showing a German Shepherd. That means that she and I take frequent road trips. As a result, I am getting more and more familiar with Motel 6s. There is in fact, a big difference between them. This one was middle of the road. This was our second night of a 41 night motel 6 tour. We went all the way from Atlanta to San Fransisco and back. This one was typical. Not one of the bad ones, not one of the good ones...in the middle of the pack. It isn't a Ritz Carlton, but it costs $40 so what are you expecting.

“Inexpensive, no frills”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

We were only looking for a place for the night on a long drive, arriving near midnight to go to sleep, waking and hitting the road. For this, the hotel was a good, cheap option. The room was quite large with a refrigerator. No alarm clock but a bright time display on the cable box. No shampoo, which we know know is standard for this chain but the did have a small old bottle at the front desk. Our tissue holder was empty. The room seemed clean. The bed was a bit hard. But for the price it was fine. Close to the highway and gas stations. Small microwave in lobby with coffee and tea available.

“excellent value, great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

this was such a pleasant surprise. By far, the nicest Motel 6 we have ever stayed at. The room was large, well decorated, clean, refrig, and totally pleasant. The staff was pleasant, kind and anxious to please. Other Motel 6 could take some tips from this one. Would go back in a minute.

“Now Motel 6; Nice, clean, basic, good restaurant next door”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2010

I stayed in this hotel, which is now Motel 6 a couple times now. It's the basic of basics for the money. Because it used to be a Days Inn, there are a few amenities left behind you don't find at some other Motel 6's. They do allow pets and did not charge me.There is no food what-so-ever, but there is a nice family friendly restaurant next door. The owner (Chris?) was very nice, the food was real good and the price adequate. The only down sides I observed was there is a bad smell when you walk in the first set of doors and they don't open early enough for travelers who like to start their day early.
