My employer booked this room for one night. At $69.00 per night, I thought the price was pretty high for a roadside motel in a remote town. Upon checking in, I was met with a big sign in the office stating "$75.00 charge for additional guests in your room". The staff followed me around to see if anyone else came or went from my room. After I went to get (terrible) coffee from their (skimpy) free "breakfast", I returned to my room to have my room phone ringing. When I answered, the caller hung up. I called the front desk to ask who had just called. The attendant abruptly hung up. When I called back to ask why he hung up, the motel attendant said "oh I don't know what you're talking about", even though I had just spoken to this person. Clearly, the hotel was trying to "catch" a second person in the room, so they could try to add this $75.00 charge. A simply terrible tactic, and one that I can not condone from any motel, especially an EconoLodge franchisee.
I'd be remiss if I didn't disclose, also, that there's a faint scent of pet urine that permiates the property. I requested to change rooms because of the urine smell. The replacement room was free of the urine smell, but had someone else's hair in the bathtub.
No way I'd stay at this property again, or recommend it to a friend.
