I stayed at this Hampton for 3 days for a business trip, and was pleasantly surprised about the experience. I have to admit - I was a little nervous based on a few of the reviews I read about the property before arriving. I have Diamond HHonors tier status and am definitely picky about where I stay. If you are a Hilton person and need a place to stay in this area, don't fret too much about getting a room here.
Room Quality: I was upgraded by the front desk to a corner suite (didn't even ask for it this time). Room had a desk, couch, mini-fridge, and a small sink and kitchen counter. The bathroom sink is in the room before getting to the bathroom. The A/C was on the loud side. There are electrical plugs in each light (on the nightstand, desk). It's always nice to plug in your phone or PC next to the bed without powerlifting a table or bed to get to an outlet. I didn't have any issues with hearing the next door neighbors, but I definitely had no problem hearing a few people going down the stairwell, which was where my room was next to. The 3rd floor hallway had a strange musty odor to it. Hopefully the hotel corrects this problem.
Location: On Lovington Highway. It's about 2-3 miles from a lot of businesses, including a Wal-Mart. There is a Schlotzsky's, Subway, and a Chilis in the same distance. There's also a local casino on the opposite side of the street nearby. Overall, a good location, but don't expect to have every single coffee shop or restaurant you are used to - you won't have it.
Staff: I had good experiences with staff members. Now, my interaction with them was limited to check-in, check-out, and a few times in the morning before work.
Breakfast: Typical Hampton Inn breakfast. Small yogurts, cereal, muffins, juice, waffle maker, etc. I always had to take a Breakfast-To-Go bag which they always had ready early. Breakfast starts at 6am which is nice for those of us needed to leave early for work.
When I am in town again, I wouldn't hesitate to book a room. I just hope I get upgraded again. Note: For those working in Eunice or somewhere in that direction, keep in mind you will pass quite a few hotels before arriving at the Hampton. It's a little more of a drive.
Room Tip: If you are Gold or Diamond, ask for an upgrade to a corner suite.
