Just looking for a room after a long drive. Tried the Hampton Inn on the other side of the tracks first, but they were completely sold out. The price at the Super 8 was $50, the Hampton Inn was $139......
This place definitely had some problems. The short, black, hair on the sheet under one of the pillows was the first thing. The security chain was broken on the door, the nightstand had 4 holes drilled through the top of it, and the alarm clock only displayed garbled characters.
All of these problems paled in comparison to the spur line of the railroad that apparently runs through the lobby. The first train passed a 10:00pm. I know this because the engineer cheerfully blew the TRAIN HORN several times as he passed by. His friend passed by going the other way at 10:45pm. I think he knew someone in room 240 because he blew his HORN 3 or 4 times when his train went by. And so it went, All... Night.... Long......
If you are looking to spend a restful night after a long day's travel, this is probably not your best choice.
Room Tip: I think the trains will be heard in any room in the neighborhood.....
