First, let me say, while I do my best for the environment, I do want all the comforts of a traditional home. While planning a trip to NM, we thought we would experience the Earthships for a night, after all you can handle anything for 24 hrs right? Well let me say, I wish we would have stayed for several days. The remote location is great for big sky, big stars and complete privacy. The Structure itself is just beautiful, the creativity combined with science is truly amazing. Once inside you would have no idea you were in any sort fo Biostructure, my friends and family were blown away by the pictures. There are several buildings on site for rental based on your needs and the pricing is very reasonable. The staff are freindly, and welcoming and more than willing to explain the underlying technology used to create and maintain the Earthships. In my opinion they are not Earthships, but Earthhomes. If you are making plans to be in the area, do your self a favor and spend a few days and appeciate what can be done to save the planet with the right resources and willingness to do so.

There is no way to properly explain the experience of staying in an Earthship, especially in Taos, without doing the experience a disservice. One must simply spend a night (or several) as a resident within the living environment and comfortable confines of an Earthship. A truely significant lifetime experience.

My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights in the Pheonix Earthship and it was a trully amazing experience. My girlfriend actually had to hold back tears when we were shown around the building. It is breathtaking and something we had dreamed of for many years. We are from Australia and drove non-stop from Nevada to make our reservation at this incredible community. 

The facilities in the building a first class and we felt at home instantly. We genuinly felt a sense of ownership of the property and looking across the desert at night you could really imagine you are last people on earth

It was a wonderful experience. We want desperately to build one of our own.
