I stay at this motel once and sometimes twice per year, as Deming is a good stopping point on a long drive I make in the summer and at Christmas. Usually, this place is above average - but not this time. They are usually a solid 4 rating, but this time they failed me.

First problem was that Wi-Fi was not working in our room. We could see the SSIDs and our devices "acted like" they connected, but there was no internet services available on the devices. It was VERY frustrating. I told the reservations clerk and she "reset" the router, but it did not help. So in a day when we travelers all EXPECT to be able to connect wirelessly when at a hotel/motel, being not able to do this was a downer.

Second issue was the pump in the Jacuzzi which powers the air jets was "missing" from the pump room, so the Jacuzzi turned into basically just a warm bath. This was a bummer in 40 degree weather, not getting the benefit of the jets. After driving 9 hours, my buttox could have used the jet massage !!! As a huge warm bath, it was OK, but what you expect from a Jacuzzi was not there. And not even a sign on the door warning us !!! Bad, bad.

The last issue was the free breakfast. It was standard fare, but the girl running it was slow and was not keeping the food bins filled up. We waited 5-8 minutes for eggs, and when she put them out there, there was enough for about 5 people to get eggs. And the room was FULL of eaters. Luckily we got ours but then the sausage ran out. (sigh) I know that as a "free" service you can't expect TOO much, but is asking that the food supplies be adequate for the guests who are eating there asking too much? I think not.

So, they will get my business again next time, but I will be on the lookout for problems again. Too many snafus in a row will mean I have to change to another motel.
