Planning our return trip from a winter in southern California, my wife and I used Google to research various locations to stop during our drive. We decided on Clovis as a stop and read about the Comfort Inn, the reviews sounded acceptable so we called to make a reservation. We do not recall the people taking the reservation saying it was anything but that they were a "Comfort Inn". Upon reaching there, also after a long drive, we couldn't find it and finally called them to find out their location as there wasn't a Comfort Inn any way near where their address should have been. They told us they were now a Rodeway Inn, confirming our worst fears as we had driven by the place a couple of times. The place was old and just marginally okay for one night. We avoided breakfast. It should be noted sleeping with loud railroad whistles blowing about every 20 minutes all night is close to impossible unless your hearing is gone. We assume all locations along this street have the same problem, but maybe they have some sound deadening. If it was a $30 or $35 room it would been just okay, but nearly twice that is a rip. There is a Hampton Inn close by where we should have stayed.
