In Chama for an event weekend on the railroad we booked the Station Inn because to be honest we couldnt get in to where we had stayed in the past - am am glad about it. Lovely old rooms in an old (1927 hotel) well fitted out. Rooms were comfortable with all you would expect, baring in mind where you are. Spent a lazy afternoon having a quiet drink on teh verandah watching a storm brew up in the mountains and the humming birds squabble over the feeder. No food on site, but Fosters Hotel over the road and the Boxcar Cafe next door ensure you wont have to go hungry. Maybe back again next year and they would be the FIRST place we try for accommodation

I've read the reviews here and I'm not really sure that realistic expectations are set when coming to Chama. I stayed here with my Fiancée because we were taking the train the following day. It was a spur of the moment decision and we decided to give this place a try. We were given room 9, which is at the end of the hallway. It was huge room. The service was very personable when we were checking in which is typical of Chama.

Other than my pathetic attempt to light a fire in the fireplace, we loved this place. So much so, that we stayed another night. You have to understand that this is a very small town place in one of the most beautiful locations you can imagine. That's the aura that surrounds this property as well.

Bottom line, we were pleasantly surprised!

This hotel is located just across the street from the railroad station. The rooms are very small and have a B&B-like feeling. No refrigerator or micro. The TV was ridiculously small. The bar next door (Fosters) didn't bother me at midweek anyway. At 75$ + tax this hotel is good for an overnighter, but that's about it. Chama isn't much to see anyway...

A nice small hotel with only 10 rooms. Across the street from the train yard for those taking the all day train yard. Very quiet.
