“Very Comfortable Rest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

My husband and I, two seniors, stayed off-season at the Hacienda and had the place to ourselves. Felt very much at home and enjoyed the freedom to wander about the courtyard and grounds...even caught a spectacular sunrise and saw the lights of the city far below us at night. The bedding afforded a wonderful night's rest! The rooms are very spacious with some having access to small private patios. Bottled water is provided in the rooms to compensate for the unappealing drinking water. We left in the mornings before breakfast is served, but we were able to fix up a light supper in the kitchen later in the evening. We had never stayed in a B&B setting before, and the Haceinda may be more than a typical B&B, but it turned out to be our favorite stay on a ten day trip that included four other lodgings.

“Truly a place to get away from it all...I had no idea it would be so charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2010

We spent 2 nights here. The first night,we arrived late, after a long day of driving & didn't really know what to expect. The warm, flickering candle lights quickly set the mood as we entered this secluded & lovely home & found a neatly-typed welcome letter, guiding us to our room, along with other basic information about our accommodations. Even though we knew the staff was present somewhere in the building,we felt like we had complete privacy.
We excitedly placed our bags in our room, & went upstairs to set foot on the balcony, only to behold a bejeweled night sky, filled with shinging stars! Nothing but the whispering desert winds could be heard all throughout the night. The city lights were close enough to appreciate, but not enough to disrupt our seemingly personal, starry night sky. We went back downstairs & settled down on a comfy sofa in one of the living areas, where we quetly chatted both nights away with a glass of wine. I cannot really say that I missed watching television at any point during our stay, though I am certain we had access to it & I was glad that he didn't even mention football the whole time we were there! lol We were pleased to find a small array of freshly-baked goods, fresh fruit, juice, coffee & granola bars waiting for us in a basket in the mornings. I would highly recommend this special place to anyone, as a couple, or solo.

“Delightful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

My boyfriend and I spent an evening at the hacienda. It is beautifully decorated, staff is friendly and it has an incredible view. In the evening the hacienda is lit with candles making it very romantic. Breakfast was excellent with a fresh plate of fruit, homemade scones, yogurt and granola. It is airy, open and very quiet. It's a perfect spot for a romantic getaway!

“Wonderful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2010

Welcoming, pleasant, a totally enjoyable stay. We did not want to drive out at night to eat dinner so Brian suggested bringing in a picnic dinner which he helped us heat up and prepare. Could not have been more hospitable. Rooms are very nicely decorated, lots of towels, robes etc. Views from the terraces are incredible. The only negatives were the smallest, least expensive room has no window, you need to leave your door open to the hall between that room and the one next door as the common hall has the screened door to the outside and the water has a strong sulfer odor.

Thanks for the great review!
So many of our guests want to enjoy the evening at the Hacienda that Brian has come up with a great menu of seasonal dinners. We will begin with Fridays and Saturdays and see how things go. Check our website for the menu!
No question, our "high desert well" water is a bit hard. On the upside, the sun shines 'most every day! Guests are always welcome to help themselves from the big water bottle dispensers throughout the Hacienda. Drink water!
