An eccentric and eclectic of decor items in a Spanish-style hacienda that looks old but is surprisingly new, quirky, but in a very good way. Super views of the valley to Santa Fe and an air of peacefulness and tranquility, this place is truly unique. Although the only prepared meal is breakfast they have snacks and drinks available in a common area with microwave, toaster oven and fridge for general use. The communal breakfast area is conducive to meeting and chatting with other guests, all this helps with the cheerful social atmosphere. Breakfasts are pleasant without being remarkable. There are one or two drawbacks, it is 8 miles away from the nearest restaurant/store (in Madrid, a wonderfully strange little town) and a good half hour's drive from Santa Fe or Albuquerque. It's not the easiest place to get baggage in and out of, especially if you are in one of the lower floor rooms, and the w.c. compartments in the en-suite facilities are cramped. But you can forgive these minor issues just to stay in such a unique place, nothing like it anywhere else. Only other guidance is on price, rooms are quoted as "$250 value", which they're not, but if you can get in for less than $150 you'll be happy with the price.
