“Summer Solstice Elopement”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

Anne was absolutely amazing about meeting our very specific needs. From start to finish it met our incredibly high expectations for what we wanted on our special day. Flowers, delicious cake, 5-star quality dining, a magical ceremony....it was what we had hoped for and more. The property is breathtaking, pictures cannot do it justice. They allowed us to enjoy our privacy while still managing to provide top quality service. We will never forget what an amazing experience we had. It was just the two of us, we can only imagine what a larger scale event would be like.

“Your own mansion on the hill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2011

An eccentric and eclectic of decor items in a Spanish-style hacienda that looks old but is surprisingly new, quirky, but in a very good way. Super views of the valley to Santa Fe and an air of peacefulness and tranquility, this place is truly unique. Although the only prepared meal is breakfast they have snacks and drinks available in a common area with microwave, toaster oven and fridge for general use. The communal breakfast area is conducive to meeting and chatting with other guests, all this helps with the cheerful social atmosphere. Breakfasts are pleasant without being remarkable. There are one or two drawbacks, it is 8 miles away from the nearest restaurant/store (in Madrid, a wonderfully strange little town) and a good half hour's drive from Santa Fe or Albuquerque. It's not the easiest place to get baggage in and out of, especially if you are in one of the lower floor rooms, and the w.c. compartments in the en-suite facilities are cramped. But you can forgive these minor issues just to stay in such a unique place, nothing like it anywhere else. Only other guidance is on price, rooms are quoted as "$250 value", which they're not, but if you can get in for less than $150 you'll be happy with the price.

“Beautful and Relaxing! A Wonderful Retreat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2011

Wow, if you want a treat, stay here. My husband and I vacationed here for two nights and enjoyed the Hacienda immensely. Our room was beautiful, the place was beautiful. Breathtaking views during the day, and at night, city lights from afar and gorgeous stars above. We had a great time. Even more, the managers Kate and John were wonderful, friendly, very informative and great to talk to. Easy to travel to the hussle and bussle of Sante Fe and come back to the peaceful and relaxing Hacienda. And of course, just minutes away from the quircky and fun town of Madrid. Can't wait to go back soon,

Room Tip: They seem to have a room type for any visitor.

“WONDERFUL PLACE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2011

We stayed 2 nights. After a long drive from DFW, and a 1/4 mile of dirt road we did not know what to expect. Once we entered in the common area main entrance, we were stunned! The view is spectacular! Every corner of decoration has something uniqueness about it. It is perfectly decorated for the region. We felt that we were staying as Guests in a Spanish Hacienda. The bed is very comfortable and the sheets were clean. We stayed at 5 stars hotels and 4 diamonds Resorts, the personalized service given by Kate & John was above and beyond of our expectations and any other hotel experience. This was our first B&B experience and we do love it! The first night, we spent some time in the common living areas in front of the fire place, watching John keep the fire on, while telling more information about the areas to visit, it was a treat! The second evening after coming from our sight seeking trip, Kate treated us with fresh homemade cookies. Downstairs they keep an area for snacks and bottled water and they have a French press coffee maker in each room.
We stayed in the Gonzalez Room for the King bed comfort which sleeps good.
We are 100% satisfied, nothing to regret about the experience. We definitely will stay again in this place, next time we stop back in Santa Fe. This was a very pleasant experience, John & Kate made our stay unforgettable.
