We stayed here in 2006 and I am glad to say nothing has changed.
Clean room, friendly, very helpful staff (thank you Ashley), great breakfast, it is the ONLY place to stay in Bloomfield (yes, we stayed in Super 8).
The room had very nice beds, great pillow selection, plenty of TV channels, nicely appointed with mini fridge and microwave. The bathtub is a bit slippery but rubber mat is provided for your safety. We initially got King room (booked), but the room was facing the road and you can here the traffic noise. Since the room had no heavy, sound deadening curtains we asked for a room on the opposite side and got one with 2 Queen beds.
This should be the standard for any hotel as far as breakfast goes. First the surroundings are nice with the murals painted on the walls, plenty of tables and space to walk by, but the star is the bar itself: fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon, waffles, choices of breads, pastries, cereal, spreads, yogurt, etc. I always say if you provide free breakfast either do it right (like this place) or do not do it at all.
Bloomfield is growing rapidly and there are new restaurants / places very close to the hotel. No major grocery chain is present at this time, but local grocery store with good selection is about a block away. For even better selection drive a short 15 min drive to Farmington.
If you arrive earlier (before 3PM) like we did in 2006 we highly recommend visit of Wines of the San Juan winery in nearby Blanco, NM (east of Bloomfield and less than 10 min from the hotel). Great wines, family owned and operated winery. Absolutely worth the very short trip.
Our room was close to $100 with tax and it is a great place to spend a night. You will not be disappointed by staying here and we definitely will stay again when in the area.
