Yeah, I guess Thang Loi is okay. It isn't in the best location, although there is a wonderful beach about 5 minutes walk away. It just doesn't have a very "beachy" atmosphere. The owners are a pretty nice couple, but not particularly warm and bubbly - not that that is a huge issue. They have great taste in music, and I loved listening to Kaftwerk and The Bad Seeds on the beach in Vietnam. Overall this is a pretty nice remote place. One thing of note for Thang Loi - BEST FOOD IN PHU QUOC! Great work Sao - they should be paying you more (and giving you a day off!) Phu Quoc is okay, but if you are expecting beaches like Indonesia or Thailand you will be disappointed, and unfortunately the fishing industry has been so successful that the diving is pretty boring (although if you love nudibranch, they are huge here - all of their predators have been fished!) The best thing to do on Phu Quoc is hire a bike and go to the remote beaches. Thanks Reinhard for a pretty cool stay. The bar was great once the alcohol started flowing! PS. If you want to book a snorkelling trip (like we did) you will get shuffled onto a horrible boat tour where they encourage tourists to go fishing for undersized fish that then just die in a bucket without ever being eaten. Guys, don't book those trips for your guests, they are like a tourist production line and we hated it. We would've loved to have a private boat and would've paid 3 or 4 times the price for it, rather than being forced into a pearl farm and tourist trap.
