January 2012, we spent 10 relaxing days at this lovely beach resort, reserving via the net when still in Canada. Our detached cottage was very comfortable - even had 2 lounges on the outside porch to sprawl on in the heat of the day - all just metres from the 10k long sandy beach lining the Gulf of Siam. SeaStar is fortunate in that they have huge leafy tress on the beach, so that you could pull up your lounge under the trees when it becomes hot and were smart to let their massage people set up there too - ahh - tough days we experienced :) They have a very nice restaurant .... and there are many others to access by simply walking along the beach. Many times we hopped a $1.00 taxi to town and instead ate there. Everything is informal - dressing up was not the thing - relaxing, mooching about, taking tours, eating and shopping was the name of the game. We had one of SeaStar's employees - Khanh Quoc Do, approach us about John'sTours, thru which we each took a super motorcycle trip to visit the National Park and also a snorkeling/fiishing trip to view 12 southern islands. They looked after us very well and those that wanted to just watch were not pushed. As I am exceptionally poor in Vietnamese :( ,,,,,, I was delighted to find that Mr. Khanh was fluent in English which made our arrangements a snap. When visiting Duong Dong town, please don't hesitate to ask for him. My goodness it is beautiful on Phu Quoc and especially with our staying at SeaStar. And all the staff were wonderful. I look forward to visiting again - the sooner the better, as such a stunning area with so little development, will definitely not last long. A truly special place.
